Great place - little bit pricey.

Amazing location. Great amenities. Slightly pricey for the size.

2116 has been great!

Living in 2116 has been great! For me, its the perfect midpoint between school and City Center. Everything is close and Trader Joes and Target are right around the corner. The common areas have been great for gatherings and the gym is perfect for what I need. The apartment itself has lots of sunlight and the two bedrooms are the same size, which is what we were looking for.

The only downside is that its more expensive than my roommate and I anticipated when we started the application process.

This is a great apartment

The apartment is modern and a nice space and the amenities are a huge perk. It costs slightly more than we planned on spending but the private dog run sold us (we have an energetic black lab).

Amazing building!

The studio floor plans are excellent. I love the walk-in closet. The management is responsive. Easily more than 50 Wharton MBA students (if that matters to you). My only issue with the unit: the AC fan only has one speed setting which some people may consider too strong/loud.

Good building, terrible management.

Pros: The building is great, very comfortable. The apartments are nice and you can really make it feel like a home. The amenities are pretty good too (jacuzzi, gym, business center), though I don't use them that often.

Cons: The management is awful. Do a quick google search on "Greystar management reviews" to get a sense.

In my experience, they are usually combative when issues arise about the livability of the apartment and have terrible communication with the tenants of the building around resolving these issues. Also, elevators seemingly go out on a weekly basis and are in no rush to fix the situation. The printer in the business center has not worked in the 6 months I've lived here either.

Luxury building

Luxury modern highrise with spacious units. Conveniently located and popular among Wharton MBAs. However, management company is not very responsive.

Great building

The building is great -- big windows with lots of light, new appliances, clean etc. The staff is very friendly and the maintenance team is responsive. Nice gym and good outdoor patio area.

Nice, new building

Perfect place to live if you can afford it. 2116 Chestnut is only a couple of years old, the amenities are amazing, and the location can't be beat.

Awesome Building. Totally worth the money.

I would highly recommend 2116 to any incoming student. While it's a bit pricier than other housing options in the area, I think the price is totally worth the added security and convenience. There are a lot of Wharton students in the building which makes it easy to get Ubers to class in the AM.

The building is in great shape and has a very responsive management team. The studio apartments are massive and you can't beat in-unit laundry machines!

I recommend leasing early to get the best price.

Fitler Square is really cute and homey. It's around a lot of other medical students, so it's a good social area and has an easy commute to school. It's also great if you like running because it's right off the trail on the river. Food is good but a bit homogenous (compared to West Philly especially.
Locust and spruce feel a lot safer than market or chestnut at night. Very residential streets with beautiful brownstones. Also close to dog park and the river walkway. About 10min walk from the popular buildings and 25min walk to huntsman
good place for people new to the city! close to both Penn and a lot of stuff downtown. I never lived in Philly beforehand, and definitely recommend this location
Love the neighborhood! If you're interested in being close to the center of the city and being able to actively explore Philly (for a not extreme price) it was great! Also was easy to get to my school - University of Pennsylvania. 15-20 mins to get to school by transit; 30 mins walking.

That being said I did notice that most students lived on the side of the school!
The beautiful tree-filled neighborhood is full of families, dogs, and students - it is safe, full of great restaurants, and boasts an equally quick walk to both University City and downtown attractions. The immediate access to the Schuylkill River Trail also can't be beat. While we lack apartment amenities, we love living in a historical brownstone that has charm and character. This is an area where you can live as a student and stay for another 20 years after that.
Great neighborhood, though expensive for Philly. If you're a Penn grad student who wants to be near campus but not on campus, it's ideal for distance from school and the Rittenhouse area. Lots of parks and residents are friendly.
There are residents without housing in the neighborhood. They're good people and new residents should be respectful of them and their belongings.
The neighborhood is very residential. Not a ton of bars/restaurants which can be annoying if you just want to pick up food after a busy day, but it's right near the park and Skukyhill river trail which is great for exercising and getting outdoors. Close to Trader Joe's and South Street market which is convenient
Center City is a fantastic area. I live on the northern side of it, which is the more financial/industrial/apartment building side. I live 2 blocks from a busy Trader Joe's and inches away from tons of great restaurants, corner stores, and shops. It's close to Rittenhouse Square, a swanky square block with a tiny park in the middle, as well as the Schuylkill River trail (great for running and biking) and the Art Museum area. Multiple major bus lines slice through this neighborhood, making it quite easy to get anywhere when you don't want to walk or bike.
