Trinity Commons at Erwin reviews and highlights
- excellent amenities
- a short Uber ride to 9th street
- extremely secure building
Location trumps everything else
Location is best for duke med students, can’t get any closer to school/the hospital. The apts are modern and pretty nice. It’s expensive. The staff are generally helpful. The gym and pool are decent. The required valet trash service is annoying. The rent is expensive but fairly competitive for the area.

Best Option in Durham
Pros:
- Very good security
- Close to all Duke schools
- Clean
- No noisy parties
- High-end quality
- Many extra spaces including a huge gym
- Near to gas station with stores
- Duke free bus passes in front
Cons:
- The building structure is weak, if you have a neighbor that does not walk smoothly, the whole apartment will shake and you will hear strong stepping noise. (not recommended for people with misophonia)

Hands down the best place to live
Despite the higher cost than most other places, it has been 100% worth it! You pay extra for convenience (8-10 minute walk to TSCHE and hospital), safety (there is never a concern for break-ins and the building and garage a very secure), and overall quality of living. From the beautiful interiors of the apartments to the quiet neighbors to the amazing amenities (gym, steam room/sauna, hot tub, pool) this is the best place to live as a student and is worth every penny!!

Trinity Commons pros/cons
Very close to Duke, easier 10 min walk commute. Definitely pricy but worth it for good gym and commute during clinical year.

Great apartments
Living here has been a great experience - the building is beautiful with really great amenities. The gym is nicer than any other apartment gym I've been to. Management is really nice and responsive. Only downside is that the rent is pretty expensive, utilities are not included, and some apartments have windows that are right by the street.

Review
I generally enjoy my apartment and the leasing office is usually helpful. The downside is it is very expensive compared to some near community like poplar west, but also safer I guess. I haven't heard any break-in since I came here, which could be somewhat frequent in some communities near by.

Amenities but terrible service
At first glance Trinity is alluring because it's close to school, new and has great amenities. But the service in the front desk is honestly terrible and that impacts so many things about living there. They hold on to your packages and are rude to you when you go down to get them. They send millions of non-sensical emails threatening to evict you or tow your car if you don't respond to them within the day. There have been several instances when service requests have to be redone 2-3 times because they do such a shotty job.
They overall make your life harder and are the main reason I would never recommend living heree.

Pricey but super convenient for busy med students!
Trinity is the closest apartment building to school--and thus the shortest commute time. If I forget to dress professionally for one of our mandatory "white coat" days, I can easily go home during lunch to change. The price of living so close (Trinity is admittedly likely the most expensive complex nearby) is slightly offset because I don't have to pay for a on-campus parking pass. The office is very friendly and helpful. There is a sauna, outdoor pool, hot tub, and resistance pool in addition to the gym! Security is very important to me, and having the locked entrances and night security guards has been very comforting to both me and my family. Emergency maintenance-- like broken AC or a leaky kitchen faucet--is fixed within hours. Non-emergency issues are fixed within a day or two, which is must quicker than students in neighboring apartments have said of their own maintenance.

Expensive but convenient
Overall very nice living situation. A bit pricey, but the location in relation to Duke med campus couldn't be better (keeps you from having to buy a parking pass, so that's some money made back at least). The gym is decent for an apartment complex, and other amenities are nice.
