Great Apartment so Far
I initially chose Lofts at Lakeview due to its proximity to campus and the fact that it has 1 bathroom for each bedroom. It is the closest apartment complex to campus and there are about 10 restaurants within a 3 minute walk including Chipotle, Dunkin Donuts, Indian, Firehouse Subs, seafood, Mediterranean, Japanese, Korean, wings, etc. So if you don't have a car, you don't need to worry. The gym and the lobby is very nice. Also, I haven't felt unsafe once here. One downside is that electricity, water, wifi, and cable aren't included in the rent, and the rent is still pricey (~$1000 per person).

overpriced, terrible mgmt
The space is large, so that drew me in, however it is not worth all the maintenance problems. My windows leak, shower doesn't drain, and any other problems that arise...are not fixed promptly. I also don't get enough hot water in the winter.
All amenities have been shut down due to Covid despite all other apt complexes in the area restarting them.
Mgmt is very slow and not helpful.
Not worth living here.

moderately priced, close proximity to hospital
pretty bare bones, but don't pay extra for trash and parking.

review
apartment itself is nice and spacious, close to campus and a good value but would be nicer if the units had balconies. the building amenities are just ok. the parking garage has been broken into several times. the recycling situation is a major hassle. maintenance is very responsive to issues.

Good for First Year
15 minute walk to campus is very ideal. Many first year med students live here or at nearby apartment complexes, making it easier to meet people. One caveat is that management is poor and the location, besides proximity to school, is not great.

Lofts
Leasing office was slow to approve lease, which was nerve-wracking when coming from across the country (though this may have been due to COVID). However, we had a maintenance emergency that required us switching units, which they were very responsive to and took good care of us.
Complex is pet friendly, with only a 1-time deposit required. Convenient location for walking to school + close to grocery stores on Hillsborough. Plenty of parking available. Apartment layouts and construction are modern and fashionable. Avoid lower floors, as roaches can come in from the garage areas. Decent value for the price.

Great for saving money on rent
Pros: Large(r) apartments, cheaper price tag, close to an eating complex and within walking distance of campus. Management has (so far) been responsive to complaints/requests for maintenance.
Cons: Feels too far from the Fuqua community - you can go on impromptu walks or drinks with classmates, but have to plan a little in advance. You will find yourself travelling a lot to 9th Street anyway, and the cab fees can become substantial. No grocery stores in nearby areas, we order online or pick them up when we're on 9th Street.
