Concierge is great, very friendly, diligent. However, leasing manager is the worst. They did not reply at all, did not work well.

Great experience

Riverloft has been great. There is a garage, we pay for a parking spot. It is pet friendly. The gym is small but functional. Management can be slow to respond but does generally respond and maintenance team is great but very busy. Very very convenient to 2401 and campus, plenty convenient to the rest of Rittenhouse. Feels a lot safer to me than other apartments farther east.

Good building, slow maintenance

Great building but they only have 1 maintenance person so the fixes can take a while and be rushed

Riverloft Review

The building is designed for graduate students and young professionals with several individual and group study spaces available. The one bedroom apartments also have a build in office space. The price is on the pricey side but the location and building is perfect for being outside of university city without being too far from school.

Best location for Wharton Hockey Players

If you like the loft setup and have a car/pet, this is the place for you. Students interested in playing d-league hockey, this is the perfect building as it is equidistant between the finest Irish pub in Philly, Bonners, and the Class of 1923 Arena.

Location and space

The location is ideal--close to university city but still in center city so near social scene. And right next to Pub. The space is unbeatable as well, especially if you have pets. The one downside is that the Aimco leasing/management team that runs this building is the absolute worst. For this much money, Locust on the Park is probably slightly nicer. And 2116 chestnut is a bit more social. But riverloft isn't a bad option, especially if you have a dog, are a couple, or can snag one of the 3 BRs.

Constant Construction

We have lived in Riverloft for 2 years and each year there is an unforseen CAPEX project and contruction. The management is not great at communicating. For a high rent apartment, they do a poor job of forecasting and keeping tennant's in the loop.

Great Location - Construction Poorly Managed

Great location unfortunately recent construction has been horrible. Waking up to a jackhammer outside your bedroom wall at 8AM is not pleasant. Construction wasn't well communicated and I probably wouldn't have signed the lease in hindsight given the three month construction alarm clock. Property management not great.

Great building with limited drawbacks

Riverloft is a great place to live. The units are large, the building is clean and has good amenities. Positives are high ceilings and new appliances, proximity to campus and in-building parking. Negatives are lack of roof space, current construction on the facade and sometimes non-responsive management.

Fitler Square is really cute and homey. It's around a lot of other medical students, so it's a good social area and has an easy commute to school. It's also great if you like running because it's right off the trail on the river. Food is good but a bit homogenous (compared to West Philly especially.
Locust and spruce feel a lot safer than market or chestnut at night. Very residential streets with beautiful brownstones. Also close to dog park and the river walkway. About 10min walk from the popular buildings and 25min walk to huntsman
good place for people new to the city! close to both Penn and a lot of stuff downtown. I never lived in Philly beforehand, and definitely recommend this location
Love the neighborhood! If you're interested in being close to the center of the city and being able to actively explore Philly (for a not extreme price) it was great! Also was easy to get to my school - University of Pennsylvania. 15-20 mins to get to school by transit; 30 mins walking.

That being said I did notice that most students lived on the side of the school!
The beautiful tree-filled neighborhood is full of families, dogs, and students - it is safe, full of great restaurants, and boasts an equally quick walk to both University City and downtown attractions. The immediate access to the Schuylkill River Trail also can't be beat. While we lack apartment amenities, we love living in a historical brownstone that has charm and character. This is an area where you can live as a student and stay for another 20 years after that.
Great neighborhood, though expensive for Philly. If you're a Penn grad student who wants to be near campus but not on campus, it's ideal for distance from school and the Rittenhouse area. Lots of parks and residents are friendly.
There are residents without housing in the neighborhood. They're good people and new residents should be respectful of them and their belongings.
The neighborhood is very residential. Not a ton of bars/restaurants which can be annoying if you just want to pick up food after a busy day, but it's right near the park and Skukyhill river trail which is great for exercising and getting outdoors. Close to Trader Joe's and South Street market which is convenient
Center City is a fantastic area. I live on the northern side of it, which is the more financial/industrial/apartment building side. I live 2 blocks from a busy Trader Joe's and inches away from tons of great restaurants, corner stores, and shops. It's close to Rittenhouse Square, a swanky square block with a tiny park in the middle, as well as the Schuylkill River trail (great for running and biking) and the Art Museum area. Multiple major bus lines slice through this neighborhood, making it quite easy to get anywhere when you don't want to walk or bike.
