1717
A more affordable apartment complex in Evanston. Great units but fewer Kellogg students live here.

Great building, a bit far from campus
Building is great. Management is super responsive. It's a bit further of a walk from campus than some other buildings, but not bad. There's a free bus that goes right by the building that gets you to Kellogg in 15 minutes.

a "real, grownup" apartment
It's a great location - especially if your JV commutes into Chicago. Very close to the metra/purple line.

Satisfied
Very good apartment, very spacious, good finishes, great GIM and pool. Cons: water runs cold after long showers and air conditioning makes living room warm, but not enough for the bedroom.

Great place to live!
I think 1717 is a great place to live - new building, nice amenities (pool, patio, grills, gym, study lounge, bike storage, secure package drop-off), quiet rooms (good sound blocking), and dog-friendly so even if you don't own a dog, you get your fill of puppy therapy. The new leasing office staff are much more responsive than they used to be, and life here is fairly seamless. The maintenance team is quick to help fix any issues!

Solid Choice
We’ve had some annoying package issues with the main office, but have otherwise enjoyed our stay here.

Has its Pros and Cons
Overall satisfied by experience but leasing office is not the fastest. You have to hassle them to get your lease signed, get keys and get set up. After that haven't had many issues with them. Quality of the apartment is visually appealing but the cabinetry and HVAC system are a little cheap. This means that HVAC is incredibly loud and fails to keep apartment at a steady temperature (turns on and off very frequently). Also need to be okay with a longer walk to campus. It's not that far from downtown though. Very pet friendly building with nice area in the back to take your pup out. Apartments are a lot larger than E2 and are better priced.

Overall, OK for Evanston
Our experience has overall been very good. The property managers are a bit disorganized and slow to react, but since we haven't had many problems, we haven't run into many issues. The amenities are nice, although the gym is a bit small. I can't hear my neighbors too much, which is a big plus for me. The walk to school is about 25 minutes, bike is 12 minutes. I think it's a little pricey for what it offers, but most places in Evanston are pricey.
