Presidential Towers reviews and highlights
- very convenient amenities
- great location near Union station
- well-maintained and clean building
- modern and updated appliances and rooms
- beautiful views of the skyline
- gym and Walmart right in the building
- slow elevators during peak times
- friendly staff
- a little pricey with a lot of extra fees
Strategic location and overall decent
Pros:
- great location and close to public transport.
- walmart in building
- FFC attached to building
- Apartment had an upgraded kitchen
- I never had to make a maintenance request
- Security staff are friendly
Cons:
- Long wait for the elevators
- Utility bills were based on an aggregate for entire tower so you don't know if you're paying more than your fair share.
- Move in/out was not pleasant. Overbooking of freight elevators caused confusion and wasn't the first impression I wanted.
- The trash room smells bad most times and could use regular disinfecting.

You can find something better
I wish I never rented here!
1. If you live in tower 3 or 4, good luck to you. The walk from entrance to your tower is way too long.
2. Management policies - Moving from one unit to another involves a transfer fee which is expensive. I don't understand why they'd charge you as you're still paying rent to the same company.
3. Slow response to maintenance requests. There have been several times when I've had to remind the management that I'd asked for maintenance after no shows from the personnel.
4. I'm able to hear sound travel thru my neighbors's walls even when he's not watching his TV at a high volume.

Location, Location, Location
I have lived in Presidential Towers for almost 3 years now. It has been a great experience, especially because of the location of the building, as well as its upkeep. I can walk to work, and I feel like I'm steps from some of the best things that Chicago has to offer. The building has been very well maintained and is always clean. The staff is always available and willing to help with any issues that arise. You really cannot find a place like this to live in the middle of the city for this price. We have shopped around a lot, and each time we end up staying with Presidential Towers.

Love this place!
My dog, Mooli loves this place. He has so many friends on the floor! Not only is PT pet friendly, it is located in a great part of West Loop, right near Randolph Street where all the great restaurants are (You have to try Girl and the Goat)! Also, the maintenance crew is awesome. They arrive promptly and do their job well. We also enjoy the various activities organized by the management- Especially the one where we snapped pics of our pets in Halloween costumes. I enjoy Papa John's pizza nights where discounted pizza is sold on site to residents. All in all, i've enjoyed by 4 years in PT. It's a home away from home :)

Great Place to live
Presidential towers is a great place to call home. Close to Randolph restaurants and bars / Walmart neighborhood market open to residents 24/7 / near ALL types of transportation (CTA, Divvy, Ogilve, Union) / walkable distance to all downtown Chicago has to offer.

Great location, but overpriced.
So this is a popular choice with foreigners- students, immigrants etc. Be prepared for a lack of diversity. It's almost like a hotel with minimal interaction with residents. Location is great, it's right next to Union Station.. but it is darn overpriced! The rent is standalone, nothing is included. There is a separate bill for water, internet, electricity, trash fee, utility fee and gas. The other good thing is that there is a gym (FFC West Loop) and a grocery store (Walmart) right in the building, so you never need to step out in the frigid winters. The gym membership is separate of course, but there is a slight discount for residents. I will be moving out soon as i can get better value elsewhere.

So worth it!
I love living at presidential towers because I feel safe and it is a wonderful location. I get a beautiful view of the skyline from my apartment and the elevators are programmed to be the most efficient! Wouldn't live anywhere else but here in the West Loop!

Living at Presidential Towers
This is a great building with a great location and is like a city in itself! It has a lot of very convenient amenities like a gym, a supermarket, dry cleaners so you don't have to step outside much for those daily errands. The building staff is very friendly too and their maintenance crew are usually fast to respond to issues. Overall a very good place to live in.

Purely for the location
Let us start of with the good- great location, i can walk to work in 15 minutes door to door. This is the sole reason i am hanging on here. Other pluses include the safety: all residents have their photos taken and upon using the electronic fob to access the lobby gates, the officers are (supposed) to verify the persons face with the photo that pops up. Each tower has another set of gates that only the residents of that tower have access to. Tower 4 is the only pet friendly tower and pet rent is $30 there. Package delivery is also good (except during the holiday season). The mailroom sends out an email to you when they receive a package and they are open on Sat till 4pm. Expect long loooong lines during peak season.
Cons wise, the lifts in each tower is really annoying since they upgraded it. You have to key in your floor and pray that it's captured when the next available lift arrives. Sometimes it's not. Imagine a 30 person line at peak times like 5pm and not seeing your floor captured while people behind you in line get into the lift. Very frustrating! Apart of that, it is very expensive to live here. You need to add in at least $200 (and i am not including cable here) to your rent to get a better idea of how much it costs to live here. No wonder so many apartments have (multiple!) room mates.
In summary, it's a well managed building that is pure corporate. Nothing more, nothing less.

Good place to live
Convenient to walk to office..in winters its easy to go nearby places and downtown. Very near to our office, walmart and FFC are the two best things which we find. union station metra for suburb is also just one block and all the CTA buses stop here.
