Woodbury was great

Woodbury Gardens has worked great for my fiancé and I for our two years at Ann Arbor. There is really convenient transpiration to and from Ross (takes about 10m minutes door to door). You also get A LOT of space which was nice (i.e. we could afford a two bedroom instead of a one bedroom).

We also had a dog and they were very dog friendly. Additionally, there are many Rossers who live here so always people to hang out with at Woodbury and really easy to uber or take bus downtown if you want to go out there. Overall has been a really positive experience,

Some Woodbury Gardens apartments are high quality, but some are very low quality. We had to move out of the first one we leased because of carpet that smelled like the previous occupant's pets even after steam cleaning. However, we are happy with the second unit we moved into. The lesson is to insist on seeing the actual unit you will be renting rather than a model unit. Woodbury is a bit far from school/downtown, but the shuttle works well on weekday mornings.

Woodbury Gardens

Great neighborhood. Very safe and many students live nearby.
Less than a mile walk from Ross, but without all the noise of living closer to campus.

Great apartments

When looking for housing, we wanted something a bit more quite and more space than in undergrad. Woodbury has been the great combination of both!

Woodbury Gardens - Convenient, Quiet, and Great for Couples

Woodbury Gardens is a great place for couples who want to be away from the chaos of Central Campus. I live in a townhouse with my fiancee and we have plenty of room and enjoy the convenience of having Lucky's (a grocery store) right next door. Woodbury offers a daily shuttle to get you to/from classes on time but it only takes about 25 minutes to walk if you absolutely have to. Only about a 6 minute bike ride to Ross in the mornings during the Spring/ Fall. We signed a 17 month lease to cover all of business school and are very happy with that decision Highly recommend for couples!

Great place to live

Not too far from Ross and easy to get to/from. Great place to be in if you value a quiet neighborhood but still want to be close to the downtown area. There's a shuttle that operates a service a few times a day between the clubhouse here and Ross, and there's also a city bus stop right when you exit the complex.

Woodbury Gardens is its own community - so we don't get a lot of surrounding neighborhood effect and it's quieter.

I haven't had to go to school in person yet (due to the pandemic) - but once things are back in person, I would use the community shuttle to get to campus and possibly back depending on the time of day I head back. Otherwise, I would take the bus or walk. Walking takes about 30 min but the bus will cut down most of that since there is a city stop right at the entrance to Woodbury.
Overall, a nice and quiet neighborhood that feels secure and is slightly removed from campus, so you're away from the hustle and bustle of the University. Definitely a grad student neighborhood. Close to public transit lines, and there is a nice grocery store near the apartment complex. Running trails are nearby, and road access to I-94 is pretty quick as well. Within an extended walk of campus, the Big House, and Ross. Really enjoy living here.
I like the convenience of getting to Ross in six minutes for class, group meetings, or coffee chats. It’s great to be able to come home and grab a quick bite before changing into a suit and walking back over. Easy walk to hockey games, and about 15 minutes to Bus/Big House. Well situated to make it to social gatherings at Skeeps, Rick’s, Munger, or any other place.
Woodbury is on the other side of Stadium Ave from Burns Park, but it's convenient access. The complex itself is pretty friendly; lots of law students around though it takes a bit of effort to get to know neighbors since everyone is on their own schedules and it's a generally older crowd.
Quiet neighborhood, many UMich grad students. Good availability of shops and amenities. Definitely has a more suburban feel than the areas closest to campus/downtown and not as many restaurants/bars nearby.
Quieter area with more families and not many undergraduate students. Still walkable to campus, but you probably won’t want to do the walk in the winter and need a car to get to grocery stores.
The neighborhood has everything you need (grocery, coffee, pharmacy, etc.) and is close to the Big House. It is farther away from downtown's bars, restaurants, and other amenities.
Safe, albeit there have been bicycle theft issues. It is quiet here in the community. Walking distance to UM Stadium, not far from Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Plum Market, etc...
