Love the View!

It's huge. Window is large. Southern side window view is the best given there is no high rise buildings in south.

Riverloft is a great place to live

Management's quite responsive and available on weekends. Building is well-maintained. A LOT of Wharton students live here.

Ideal location, spacious loft-style apartments, and high ceilings

Riverlofts is the ideal location -- on 23rd Street, so as close as you can get to campus while still living in Center City. And only a 5 minute walk from Rittenhouse Square. I live in a three-bedroom apartment with two other Wharton students. The apartment has a ton of space -- 2,100 square feet. We all have good-sized bedrooms, the living room is gigantic, and the kitchen is pretty large as well. It is loft-style, so very high ceilings make it feel even bigger. Plus, there are 2.5 bathrooms. For a doorman building, this is the best size-to-rent ratio you are going to get. There is also a gym in the building, and a number of common areas. Note that Riverlofts only has 3 bedroom and 1 bedroom apartments. The 1 bedroom apartments are also quite large, but quite expensive on a per-person basis.

Don't be fooled by the large apartments

One of the largest apartments available in the area, which is why we chose it. However, we have been very disappointed with many things here: badly damaged floors that management did not replace, several broken appliances (microwave, washing machine dryer), leaks form ceiling, and overall rude and unresponsive management. Rent from here at your own risk

Great location for Wharton MBAs, huge apartments

Probably the best possible location for a Wharton MBA: (A) Across the street from 2401 Walnut (MBA space on the 8th floor), (B) 17mn walk from Campus, (C) 5mn walk from Rittenhouse Square. The apartments are huge (mine is about 1100 -1200 sq ft), with 20 feet ceilings, lots of light, hardwood floor (tough to find in Philly rentals) and are great to host social events. If you have a car, you can park it in the cheapest indoor garage in Philly (Walnut Bridge, next door, for $185 a month). The gym is free but a bit minimalistic. There is Sweat gym next door which is very complete and offers classes. On the downside: The area lacks a grocery store.

Good location and overall a nice building

Pros: Proximity to campus and 2401 (right across the street). Riverloft is also close to a handful of good take out places and nice restaurants and is in a really safe location. Management has been responsive. Overall, the building and the units have been nice.

Great staff and management

The staff goes out of their way to accommodate. In the process of renovating the lobby, they are always looking for ways to improve the building.

Fitler Square Reviews

Fitler Square is really cute and homey. It's around a lot of other medical students, so it's a good social area and has an easy commute to school. It's also great if you like running because it's right off the trail on the river. Food is good but a bit homogenous (compared to West Philly especially.
Locust and spruce feel a lot safer than market or chestnut at night. Very residential streets with beautiful brownstones. Also close to dog park and the river walkway. About 10min walk from the popular buildings and 25min walk to huntsman
good place for people new to the city! close to both Penn and a lot of stuff downtown. I never lived in Philly beforehand, and definitely recommend this location
Love the neighborhood! If you're interested in being close to the center of the city and being able to actively explore Philly (for a not extreme price) it was great! Also was easy to get to my school - University of Pennsylvania. 15-20 mins to get to school by transit; 30 mins walking.

That being said I did notice that most students lived on the side of the school!
The beautiful tree-filled neighborhood is full of families, dogs, and students - it is safe, full of great restaurants, and boasts an equally quick walk to both University City and downtown attractions. The immediate access to the Schuylkill River Trail also can't be beat. While we lack apartment amenities, we love living in a historical brownstone that has charm and character. This is an area where you can live as a student and stay for another 20 years after that.
Great neighborhood, though expensive for Philly. If you're a Penn grad student who wants to be near campus but not on campus, it's ideal for distance from school and the Rittenhouse area. Lots of parks and residents are friendly.
There are residents without housing in the neighborhood. They're good people and new residents should be respectful of them and their belongings.
The neighborhood is very residential. Not a ton of bars/restaurants which can be annoying if you just want to pick up food after a busy day, but it's right near the park and Skukyhill river trail which is great for exercising and getting outdoors. Close to Trader Joe's and South Street market which is convenient
Center City is a fantastic area. I live on the northern side of it, which is the more financial/industrial/apartment building side. I live 2 blocks from a busy Trader Joe's and inches away from tons of great restaurants, corner stores, and shops. It's close to Rittenhouse Square, a swanky square block with a tiny park in the middle, as well as the Schuylkill River trail (great for running and biking) and the Art Museum area. Multiple major bus lines slice through this neighborhood, making it quite easy to get anywhere when you don't want to walk or bike.
