Eleven by Windsor

Nice apartment with solid amenities. I like the gym and easy access to East Austin. One thing to note is that there are not public transit options from this area to the law school. I wouldn't live here unless you are able to drive to school every day. Otherwise, it's a solid apartment building with lots of mid-late twenty somethings.

Great location and ameneties, annoying fire alarm

I've lived at Eleven for two years. I've been lucky to not experience any issues with my unit, but the building does from time to time lose power and get the fire alarm trigged for a variety of reasons relatively often (once a month). The gym and pool are nice, and there are study rooms which are basically unused except for the MBA students in the building. It's a 7 minute drive to Rowling and close to a lot of great bars, restaurants and coffee shops.

Solid Apartment Complex with Great Location

Eleven is an overall good spot. Great location with minimal noise and good amenities. There was a break in to the bike area and my bike got stolen. Other than that I don’t have many complaints about this place. I bike to UT everyday - it’s 10-15min and not too hilly.

Great Apt Complex

The amenities are very nice, no issues with noise or pests. Management is good at responding to any issues that may arise, and the location is real close to fun spots in Central East Austin.

Hyde Park is out/East Austin is in

I really enjoy living in East Austin and am a 5 minute drive to the law school. When I came to law school, I was encouraged to live in Hyde Park/North University to be close to the school. I HATED living in that area. My rent was just as high and my apartment didn’t have a dishwasher/washing machine and was old and full of pests. There are so many new developments in east Austin that law students should look at - this is a much better environment for my mental health and I have access to study rooms in my building and live near tons of great places to study. Plus a great bar and restaurant scene. Hyde Park is not all that and I highly advise not living in that area.

Great apartment but wouldn't recommend for singles

I absolutely love my physical apartment! The layout is perfect for me. I also love the location of the building compared to East 6th street and downtown. I walk to work and whenever I go out at night. However, I feel like I'm overpaying for what I am getting. Maybe if I used the amenities I would feel differently but there's nothing drawing me to them. Also, something to note is that the building (multiple hallways, elevators) is massive and mostly full of couples. It's rare for me to see anyone when I'm entering/exiting and to be honest it's a bit lonely. The pool is also not social in the summer, quite opposite from Amli East nextdoor. If you're a couple and/or looking for a nice place and don't mind that it's anti-social then I would recommend it. However, if you're new to Austin and looking for a social building then I would not recommend it.

Eleven

Eleven has been a great place to live. Convenient location, great amenities, and great management. If and when anything breaks, they are very quick to reply and come to your apartment. Very dog friendly with a dog park and a dog bath, as well. I would recommend.

Large space and out of the way

Awesome space with young people and good location. Walking distance from 6th street and east side and the amenities are awesome. Nice dog fence in the back too!

Central East Austin Reviews

12 reviews
Central East Austin is a cheaper place to stay than downtown Austin or west side but it is close to everything as for instance to east 6th street for night life and to UT campus for work and study. It is a quiet neighborhood except during traffic. Several mini grocery shops exist and by a 5 min drive you can get to a supermarket.
East Austin is the best area of Austin. I am walking distance to bars, restaurants, coffee shops. There is a new target/Whole Foods complex a couple blocks away. It is easy to navigate and park compared to other areas of town.
Central East Austin is a great spot to live as a student. It's close to e 6th without being loud, and very close to anywhere you want to be downtown. Most law students live in buildings north of the law school - so if you live here, you may end up going over to that area a lot.
Pros: 10 mins to campus/downtown, bars/restaurants nearby, 15 mins to airport

Cons: safety can be sketchy, gentrification
Neighborhood is close to school and close to bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. The area has been gentrifying over the past couple of years and can be rough around the edges at times, but I haven't experienced any issues in the neighborhood myself. I feel very safe inside the building and around it.
Walking distance to all major points of downtown austin while being far enough away that you don’t get all the foot traffic
Central east Austin is a good neighborhood since it is close to UT campus and to Downtown Austin so one can easily get to work in the morning and enjoy nightlife at night. Grocery stores are easy access with the location close to i35.
Usually calm except when there is traffic.
Great bar scene and close to downtown. Can become sketchy quickly when you get off the main 6th street drag or close to I-35, but I expect this will get better as the area develops.
