Good spot for the money

Decent building fairly close to campus, downtown, and E 6th. Two blocks of walking puts you on the main drag on East Austin. Lots of nearby restaurants and bars. Close to I-35, which is home to many people experiencing homelessness.

Good bang for your buck and great location

This place is a great location: lots of food options along 11th St and walking distance to East side night life and downtown. Facilities are nice and management responsive

Excellent Location

Great location in east side Austin, lots of bars and restaurants walking distance. Also, 15 minutes walk to Rainey St, 10 minutes walk to East 6th and 10 minutes biking to Campus.

Fast Maintenance Service

I really enjoy staying at AMLI east side given its location that is pretty close to i35. It is in central east side of Austin and the apartment has a modern finishing with a rural look from the outside. The amenities include gym and large pool where I enjoy doing some laps especially in the hot summer time. Moreover, the maintenance requests are immediate and just take a maximum of 48 hours for someone to come and check up your issue. It is also a quiet place without a lot of parties going on at night.

Large, older property

I moved to the Amli Eastside before it was an Amli property, and lived there for 5 years. The location is great; apartments are spacious with pretty standard/semi upgraded features. Fob controlled doors and garages, so there is element of safety. When Amli took over, they painted, made themselves a new office space, and didn't really update anything else. Gym and pool area are maintained-pool tends to be a party area. Residents are friendly, mostly grad students/young professionals. Used to be a good value, but they jack up rent every renewal period.

nice place... surrounded by homeless

The apt is nice and spacious. People are friendly and there are plenty of restaurant and nightlife options nearby. You can walk to downtown and 6th street from the building. There are just way too many homeless people around the area, creating a sense of danger,

nice place, close to fun spots downtown, shady neighbors

The building is great and the apartments are a great value. You won't get as much space as inexpensively anywhere else near downtown. The only complaint is the homeless shelter nearby brings in an uncomfortable and potentially dangerous element to the area.

Overpriced but Great Location

I have lived here for over 2 years. The location is absolutely unbeatable. Super close to downtown without being in the middle of the fray. The cost for the unit is a little ridiculous for what you get, though. The amenities are marginal and the actual apartment interior is also mediocre. The units on the first floor have fake wood, but any other floor has carpet (poor quality).

Central East Austin Reviews

12 reviews
Central East Austin is a cheaper place to stay than downtown Austin or west side but it is close to everything as for instance to east 6th street for night life and to UT campus for work and study. It is a quiet neighborhood except during traffic. Several mini grocery shops exist and by a 5 min drive you can get to a supermarket.
East Austin is the best area of Austin. I am walking distance to bars, restaurants, coffee shops. There is a new target/Whole Foods complex a couple blocks away. It is easy to navigate and park compared to other areas of town.
Central East Austin is a great spot to live as a student. It's close to e 6th without being loud, and very close to anywhere you want to be downtown. Most law students live in buildings north of the law school - so if you live here, you may end up going over to that area a lot.
Pros: 10 mins to campus/downtown, bars/restaurants nearby, 15 mins to airport

Cons: safety can be sketchy, gentrification
Neighborhood is close to school and close to bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. The area has been gentrifying over the past couple of years and can be rough around the edges at times, but I haven't experienced any issues in the neighborhood myself. I feel very safe inside the building and around it.
Walking distance to all major points of downtown austin while being far enough away that you don’t get all the foot traffic
Central east Austin is a good neighborhood since it is close to UT campus and to Downtown Austin so one can easily get to work in the morning and enjoy nightlife at night. Grocery stores are easy access with the location close to i35.
Usually calm except when there is traffic.
Great bar scene and close to downtown. Can become sketchy quickly when you get off the main 6th street drag or close to I-35, but I expect this will get better as the area develops.
