Great Management and Social Experience
The management is friendly, after a month or two they know your name, your apartment number and make you feel very welcome. They're also FAST. They are prompt with packages, sorting out logistics when you first move in, and reply within an hour or two for every email I've ever sent them. The major downside to this is that outside of business hours, there is no way to reach them.
In terms of Social activity, there is really no better place to the center of MBA life. Events, team meetings, parties, pre-games, and random encounters (building little friendships and face recognition) are the better here than anywhere else.

S9 is decent
Lots of MBAs here. Place is nice enough. If I had a partner here in Durham I might opt for a little nicer place.

Older complex, rent high, and noisy - but convenient and social
Station Nine has been...fine. I've never had a problem with management, who have always responded to my inquiries and issues quickly and respectfully, and recognize me when I go to pick up a package. It's convenient to Harris Teeter and the Ninth Street shops and restaurants, and easy to catch a ride to school on the shuttle or with a classmate (if your classmates haven't all moved away). But it's not luxury living, and that's certainly the price they are charging. If you are bothered by noisy neighbors or social events, this is NOT the place for you, though security is used to handling complaints (Pro? Con?). The pool is fine, gym is small, other amenities unreliable...

It's fine.
My apt is comfortable and functional but it is not fancy and expensive for what it is

Best location
It has been great living here! I live in a top floor apt with a loft and the double ceiling makes the whole difference it gives you the sense of so much space.
The ammenities at S9 could be improved to more modern ones but nothing beats the location.

Very Average
Filthy common areas. Lots of noise, from footsteps to parties. Packages get taken. Central location tho. Side by parizade gets noise from restaurants.

Paying for the Social Aspect
The only reason I'm paying $1220 a month for a 1BR in Durham is for the social aspect. Apartment is nice enough, but everything is average and if I weren't in business school I could get something similar for $600/month on my own.

Fuqua Dorm
This was described to me as the Fuqua Dorm because a majority of my classmates lived here. That's about the only appeal over other apartment complexes. It was great having other students in the building, but if people are starting to move elsewhere then S9 loses all value as a complex.

Station Nine
This probably one of the most social places for students, with many Fuquans living here. It's walking distance from Harris Teeter, and a short drive from school and nearby fastfood. Being walking distance from Tavern, enables a little after school drinks at Tavern on Tuesdays. If you are looking for a big gym or pool however, this may not be the most ideal.
