Affordable old building in popular area
Overall it is a very affordable building in a popular area. However it's main issue is that is old. Would recommend living there if you want an affordable option that is close to campus.
Pros:
Cheap and affordable
Good location 15 minutes from campus, 10 minutes from Coventry, popular area for other students
Large apartments
On-premise laundry
24 hour gym with limited selection (dumbbells w/ bench, elliptical, treadmill, home gym)
Gated outdoor parking with limited covered spaces
Cons:
Old building (old floors, old and loud heating, no central AC)
Occasional pest problem (mice)
Small kitchens with limited counterspace

Great Management
The management was the deciding factor for choosing Lewis Manor. On top of that, the apartments feel very secure.

Clean building close to campus
The apartment is extremely close to campus, only a 15 minute walk even in poor weather. Landlady keeps the apartment building extremely clean, and quite. Many residents are graduate students or doctors doing their residency, so building is also kept quiet and student friendly. Also, is extremely close to Little Italy.

Great Management and Within Walking Distance
Lewis Manor is within walking distance of CaseMed. The management is very responsive and helpful with all issues. The studio apartment is spacious enough for one person and 2 cats with a very large closet for storage. The floors are all hardwood except tile in the bathroom and kitchen. There is an uncovered parking lot that requires a key to get in and out of.

Lewis Manor Review
Lewis Manor is a nice place to live, about a 15-20 minute walk (or a 5 minute bike ride downhill) to the CWRU medical campus. I've been impressed by the management's response to service requests; we had our ceilings painted and tub re-finished. Maintenance is friendly and meets expectations. The street is pretty quiet - I live on the ground floor and haven't had problems with noise while studying. Compared to friend's apartments, mine is quite spacious for the rent. The apartment has tons of storage space and lots of interesting nooks and crannies.
Things to consider: Like many apartment in the are it's an older building. Steam heated (radiators), laundry facility not attached to units, drafty windows. The counter space in our kitchen wasn't great for cooking all the time, so I bought a microwave cart to add surface

Good value in a popular area, but average quality in an old building.
Overall, it is a good value. It is very affordable and still within walking distance to the med school (~15 min) and Coventry (~10 min). A lot of the area is med students and other grad students. However, the building is pretty average otherwise.
The building has most amenities on site. The laundry (~$2 per machine via a card system). The gym is sparse but adequate (2 treadmills, 2 ellipiticals, home gym, bench with rack of freeweights) and it is open 24/7 for a modest fee. The management is pretty receptive. They are on-site with repair men on-site so they are quick to respond. Parking is fine, they have a gated parking lot as well as covered garage parking. The building is old but decently maintained. They have cleaners that clean hallways and entries weekly, and there is a small old elevator if you live on higher floors. The building is old and has had a couple of incidents in the past few years including a fire and a water pipe burst.
The apartment itself is decent. It has hardwood floors and is very spacious. The kitchen is small with limited counter space. It has a gas stove/oven, refrigerator, and plenty of cabinets, but no dishwasher. The walls are pretty thick, but the floors can be somewhat creaky. The building is old, and the heat is radiator which can be very erratic and loud. There is no central air, but the management company will help install and store window units.
Overall, it is a good value place to live. It is close to campus in a fairly residential and safe area with a lot of fellow students. The building is old and has some issues associated with its age, but it has been decently maintained with a management company that is pretty easy to work with.

Awesome apartment with great management
This is a great apartment building. The apartments have plenty of space, as a guy I don't know what to do with 4 closets. It's super quiet (I'm currently doing my Step 1 studying here). It's ~15 minutes from school, a nice walk in the morning. There is parking for $20 (covered for $40), utilities and internet aren't included. The management is super friendly and they get stuff done. If you have any issues with your apartment, they usually send someone over that day or the next. Although they don't have central A/C, they'll install your unit for you. They also have a small gym (nothing amazing) but it's nice to have if you're not going to campus for the day. I'm super happy with my setup and there's a bunch of other medical students here who would agree.

Great Location, good management
I've had a great experience here. Yes, the building is not new and comes with the issues of an older building (radiators for heat can make the building pretty hot during winter, floors can be a little creaky), but the management is easy to work with and fixes any problems that come up quickly and painlessly! There is a nice work-out room in the building and a deck that everyone has access to! I love my apartment which has a ton of windows with nice views of the rooftops of nearby buildings. Overall, I would totally live in this building if I had to do it all over again!

Lewis Manor apartments
Lewis Manor is a great building if you want to walk to campus. Management has been great as well! Barb and her maintenance team are on the premises at least 5 days a week so any problems, questions, concerns get resolved very quickly. The appliances are on the older side but mine have been completely functional and without problems. Without central A/C it gets pretty warm in the summer but ceiling fans and a window A/C unit can help for sure. My floor plan is spacious and while Lewis Manor is of the same age of buildings in the neighborhood, I think it has been maintained and kept up extremely well and surpasses similar buildings that charge the same rent rates.
