Very happy with my rent

Pros:
- Apartments are very large (much larger than most of my friends)
- Gym in the building
- Pool and external area in the building
- Very efficient reception and seamless experience with deliveries

Cons:
- A little far from Rittenhouse square (but it was an okay trade off for me)
- You cannot walk to school (but it takes 15 min by the public trolley lines or 15 min by bike or if you plan accordingly you can also take the free shuttle of the building)

Great Location, Great Price, Comfortable and Safe

This apartment is clean, safe, well-organized, and comfortable. It has been a great value for the money. It's close to Rittenhouse Square and a quick trolley ride (or walk) to the law school. It is quiet and has everything I need. Management is incredibly responsive. I had never rented an apartment before coming to law school, and the Sterling made it very easy.

Great amenities & Center City location

I love living at the Sterling! I'm a 1L at Penn Law. The trolley is very convenient to getting to campus (door to door in 10 minutes), and the building also offers a free shuttle. The management and building staff are friendly and extremely responsive to repairs. Very close to Trader Joe's and all the great shopping, restaurants, etc in Center City. Coming from NYC where the housing market is very expensive, I appreciate being able to live in a "luxury" building with all the amenities (package service, doorperson, pool, gym, laundry in unit!!!) on a budget. Only con is walls are a little thin.

Good Luxury Building with Few Downsides

Building itself is great, newly renovated with nice amenities (biggest rooftop pool in Philly, grill in rooftop, decent gym, study rooms). Also right next to good delis, pharmacies, dry cleaning less than a 10min walk from Trader Joes.

The biggest downsides are:
- No view (building is surrounded by tall office buildings, leaving you with views into people's offices)
- Thin windows!! The streets can get pretty loud during weekedays, so I always have to sleep with earplugs in. The shades are also terrible so eyemasks are sometimes required.
- Could be a block or 2 closer to campus, but not a dealbreaker by any means

Good amenities, helpful staff and apartments in good shape

I love living at Sterling. The apartment is well located, a little bit outside of the Rittenhouse bubble. It is very close to the train station and to the bus station, if you use this to travel around. Also, the building has a shuttle that takes you to the university so you don't need to spend a penny with uber if you plan accordingly.

Sterling is convenient, spacious, and massive

Apartments have incredible square footage and tons of natural light in each room. Quality of finishings is medium to high. Amenities, including the doorman, rooftop, etc. are top of the line and management is extremely prompt with questions/service requests.

The building is really close to the 19th/Market Trolley stop which makes it super easy to get to and from Penn's campus.

Only gripe with this place is that the backside of the building now looks into the Comcast2 offices. At times, it can be a bit annoying.

Lots of space, but the building has constant issues

My 2 Bed, 2 BR is gigantic and is in good condition since the building was just renovated. The gym is also pretty nice. The location is convenient since it's near the 19th st. trolley stop.

However the building has constant issues with fire alarms going off and power outages. I live on the JFK side of the building and the cars on the street outside are very loud. Also, basic utilities are extremely expensive (like $200 a month), so it ended up being much more expensive to live here that it originally seemed. For the price, I think the building has too many issues.

Nice place to live

Rooftop pool, lounges and grills are great. Tech lounge is good for studying. Gym is pretty good but not the best for heavy lifting. Concierges are amazing and will help out a lot. The apartments are very modern and spacious.

The cons: windows are thin, so it gets really humid inside the apartments in the summer, so your bed and room may feel damp. The thin windows also make it really noisy, so you need to wear ear plus to bed in order to not hear the street noise too much. Also, the blinds are terrible at blocking out light, so you should wear a sleep mask to get a good night's sleep. also, the shuttle app is not reliable enough to count on it. Also, it’s decently far from Huntsman in comparison to some of the buildings closer to Rittenhouse where most Wharton students live.

Great Apartment with excellent facilities

Sterling is very conveniently located on JFK Blvd. Trolley at 19th Market is a 2 minute walk away, which goes directly to Wharton. Trader Joes is a 5 minute walk away. The gym is great, and the rooftop deck has amazing views with a swimming pool! The apartment is huge and has a great living room with new appliances. Overall, great apartment, and would highly recommend.

Note the only drawback is the Wharton community is not big at Sterling. Compared to 2116 Chestnut, Wannamaker (which have ~150 Wharton students each), Sterling has only ~30 Wharton students.

Great roof deck, updated units, good management

No complaints. Location is great, right next to trolley (19 and Market) which is really convenient. Roof deck is really nice. Units are recently updated, but slightly cheap in quality. Includes washer/drier. Overall, just what I'd expect for the price!

Loved the neighborhood. Paying for monthly parking in a nearby garage was not outrageously expensive, was close to center city for fun and errand-running, Target and Whole Foods nearby made for easy groceries when I didn’t want to leave the city. Sabrina’s Cafe is nearby, which is super delicious. BSL was about an 8 minute walk to either Spring Garden or Race-Vine, depending on if I was going north or south. Great area for walking around and getting out of your apartment.
The apartment is technically between Logan Square and Rittenhouse Square. We live right above Trader Joe's, which makes grocery shopping a breeze. We spend a lot of time walking around Rittenhouse Square and Rittenhouse neighborhood to pick up groceries, drink coffee, and generally hang out with each other and friends. The river walk is a short walk away, and the Museum District is within walking distance. Back when I was going to school regularly, the Septa trolley stop is conveniently right in front of our apartment and the 30th Street Station is a 10 minute walk away. While the amenities leave some things to be desired and we pay a premium for our location, it is a great place to live especially for newcomers to Philadelphia who want to be next to all the action.
Unless you mind the noise of cars in the street below, you will not have any issues. Given that is center city there are many people experiencing homelessness so if that is a deal breaker I recommend other neighborhoods. The upside is being 5-10 minutes distance from all the fun, restaurants, activities, nightlife, etc.. that you will ever need.
Super close to Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and I love the walk along the parkway. It's close to various museums which is great! Overall the neighborhood is pretty residential, but there are coffee shops and to-go restaurants that are easy to access.
The neighborhood is a little more commercial but only a minute away from everything wonderful in rittenhouse. But it feels very safe at all times because it’s on a major street.
It is a great location. The law school is a 15 minute walk. Most of Center City is also within a 20 minute radius. A lot of other law students live nearby.
Lots of great bars and restaurants in the area. One of the safest and nicest areas in Philly. There are generally lots of people walking around.
Close to tons of great places to eat/drink, shop, etc. Walking distance to anything in Center City/Callowhill/Art Museum areas.
