Great for families

We have loved our time at Woodbury, and the community that comes along with living here. It is a short 20-minute walk to campus and has a shuttle that runs frequently as well. The outdoor space with the parks, and the community of pet owners and families makes this a great place for dog-lovers and families alike.

Spacious, comfortable and quiet

I have an upgraded apartment with laundry in unit. Overall, I am pretty happy. It took some getting used to the fact that the stove is electric, the apartment is carpeted, you can either wash or dry (not both) at one time, and there is limited ceiling lighting, but I really like the apartment layout and feel very safe and comfortable here. You will definitely need to get 3-4 lamps per room, but there is a ton of storage in the apartment and central air/heat (I'm coming from an old apartment in NY with none of these things.) Fantastic neighborhood if you like dogs-- this is THE neighborhood for dog-owners

Nice spot

Overall positive. Very spacious townhomes with huge unfinished basement for storage, great for pets (dog park nearby). We have an updated unit so new kitchen appliances. They're older units so the very squeaky floors have been a bit of a problem. If you're a light sleeper it's a good idea to have roommates on the same sleep schedule otherwise it's hard to get good sleep.

Space and Amenities

Especially during quarantine, I'm so grateful to be at Woodbury and have a large apartment, plenty of open outdoor space, and lots of MBAs in proximity to see (outdoors) while we're not traveling to campus much. (Although the free shuttle bus is also a great deal for when we do commute to school again.)

Woodbury Review

Absolutely lovely. Tons of green space to walk around in and see friends in a socially distant way. Very dog friendly. Fireplaces and gas grills for residents to use. Two parks for residents to use. Fantastic and communicative front office staff. Tons of parking.

Great living space

My partner and I love living at Woodbury, especially given how much time we spend in the apartment due to COVID. The apartment is comfortable, spacious, great for our dog + cat (there's even a dog park!). Many other Ross students live here, so even though it is farther away from downtown, there's always folks around to BBQ with or hang around the fire pit and have a drink.

Great value!

Beautiful neighborhood with responsive management and spacious units. My only complaint is that it's a little far to walk to and from Ross everyday.

Woodbury Gardens - great place to live!

My fiance and I really enjoy living at Woodbury. It's a quiet community that's very convenient to get to school, work and various social activities. There are many other Ross MBA students in the neighborhood, which has been great to make new friends for both me and my fiance. The parking access is incredibly easy. Also, the Woodbury Management Company does a really nice job organizing community events and are very nice to work with.

Woodbury Gardens is its own community - so we don't get a lot of surrounding neighborhood effect and it's quieter.

I haven't had to go to school in person yet (due to the pandemic) - but once things are back in person, I would use the community shuttle to get to campus and possibly back depending on the time of day I head back. Otherwise, I would take the bus or walk. Walking takes about 30 min but the bus will cut down most of that since there is a city stop right at the entrance to Woodbury.
Overall, a nice and quiet neighborhood that feels secure and is slightly removed from campus, so you're away from the hustle and bustle of the University. Definitely a grad student neighborhood. Close to public transit lines, and there is a nice grocery store near the apartment complex. Running trails are nearby, and road access to I-94 is pretty quick as well. Within an extended walk of campus, the Big House, and Ross. Really enjoy living here.
I like the convenience of getting to Ross in six minutes for class, group meetings, or coffee chats. It’s great to be able to come home and grab a quick bite before changing into a suit and walking back over. Easy walk to hockey games, and about 15 minutes to Bus/Big House. Well situated to make it to social gatherings at Skeeps, Rick’s, Munger, or any other place.
Woodbury is on the other side of Stadium Ave from Burns Park, but it's convenient access. The complex itself is pretty friendly; lots of law students around though it takes a bit of effort to get to know neighbors since everyone is on their own schedules and it's a generally older crowd.
Quiet neighborhood, many UMich grad students. Good availability of shops and amenities. Definitely has a more suburban feel than the areas closest to campus/downtown and not as many restaurants/bars nearby.
Quieter area with more families and not many undergraduate students. Still walkable to campus, but you probably won’t want to do the walk in the winter and need a car to get to grocery stores.
The neighborhood has everything you need (grocery, coffee, pharmacy, etc.) and is close to the Big House. It is farther away from downtown's bars, restaurants, and other amenities.
Safe, albeit there have been bicycle theft issues. It is quiet here in the community. Walking distance to UM Stadium, not far from Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Plum Market, etc...
