Lofts 590
Large apartment in a great location with friendly staff, but management is difficult to get ahold of if you ever have a problem.

Good space in Arlington
My apartment is nice, with plenty of space and both a dishwasher and washer and dryer. There is a lot of construction in the area and it is about a 25 minute total trip (including walk and time on the metro) to campus. It's possible to walk to multiple grocery store, two metro stops, a mall, Costco, a park, and a variety of shops.

I love it
I’m extremely happy with my apartment as well the area I live in. In general, everything is very safe and walkable. The only negative is that it is a longer drive to the University.

great for students with pets
Very friendly and helpful front desk workers, front desk is 24/7. Maintenance requests are usually attended to within 24 hours of filing the request. No utilities are included in the rent but sewer/trash/water is set up by building and billed to you, need to set up separate accounts for internet/cable, electric, and gas. Has a very nice pool shared with the Crystal Towers complex and a dog park. Very walkable area and approx 7-8 minute walk from both Pentagon City and Crystal City metro stations. Across the street from a 7-11 and near Pentagon City metro is a large mall (pentagon city fashion center). Diagonal from Costco and down the street from a Dunkin Donuts. Reasonable prices for large and updated spaces. You can save money renting a 1 bedroom & den apartment rather than a 2 bedroom as the den is almost exactly the same size as the bedroom. Amazingly quiet given it is super close to Reagan airport, very well insulated. Huge windows for lots of natural light

Mordern luxury apartment in Arlington
Living at Lofts 590 has been a great experience. I wasn't necessarily looking to live in a huge apartment complex, but I wanted to find a place that was well managed with a gym and Lofts 590 was a great fit. The staff is really friendly, the metro is nearby, and the surrounding area is extremely safe. It's still more expensive than I would have liked, but I've been very happy living here.

Safe, green building, and great location
My wife and I are new to the area and were of course surprised at the high cost of living. We didn't want to live in a high rise but still wanted to be close enough to the city for simple commutes to work. Lofts 590 was great find due to it's proximate location to metro stops and biking trails. It's also a low rise (4 story) green building with a protective courtyard. The staff is top-notch and very friendly. While it may be impossible to live in a nice, safe place and not pay an arm and a leg in this city, finding somewhere with great quality is a relief.

New to DC, felt at home
I wasn't too keen on moving into an expensive apartment complex when my husband and I moved into DC, but Lofts 590 has been very accommodating, friendly, and convenient. I love the people who work for the apartment complex. The gym is a nice perk, too. While of course I wish it were cheaper, the amenities of the building itself, the fact that they allow pets, proximity to metro, back courtyard, and security all seem to make it worth the price.

I LOVE my apartment, BUT. . . .
I have had issues communicating with the manager that took over the day that I moved in. If you don't do well with the young loud crowds and dogs that bark all night long that keep you up, this may not be the best apartment complex. The one across the street by Costco seems to have less issues with noise and I wish that I would have looked there first. I will have to tolerate this and spend thousands of dollars on hotels on top of my high rent just to be able to sleep AWAY from my apartment. I could deal with the noise a little bit more if the manager seemed more empathetic about how bad the noise really was.

Pentagon City Reviews
For the metro, the ride itself is about 20 min. I just budget in extra time for walking and not wanting to arrive just on time. It shouldn't take 45 minutes to get to school unless they're doing maintenance. Then, add 10 minutes.
There is not a lot of green space, unless you count Long Bridge "Park", which is a dead-end, cement "bridge" that looks over soccer and baseball fields with some views of D.C.
Pros:
-Very metro-accessible (blue/yellow, so can get into the city in multiple directions if there are delays)
-Walkable - easy to get to grocery store, Pentagon City mall, library, restaurants, etc. within minutes
-Quiet and safe, and generally well-lit in the evenings
Cons:
-I'd like to see a few more restaurant options. There are good casual dining options, like Naked Pizza, California Pizza Kitchen, and the mall food court, but besides Bonefish Grill there's not much a step up from that.
-I don't feel much sense of community, and don't know my neighbors. Not as diverse-seeming as other parts of DC.
