Good overall Living Experience

Although booking an apartment over phone and email was alittle problematic, but the management is experienced enough to understand the situation.
The apartment complex is spacious and green with Den, Gym and Swimming pool included. It is a good place to live with friends or family.

Amazing locality- The Village Chase

Though the Village is located in a posh locality, the house rents are quite reasonable. Without an argument, these apartments are the best places to stay in for students of SMU. SMU bus plies through the locality. The park is great, lots of greenery in the community.

Great for grad students

Very private, quiet area. Social scene at the pools in the summer but otherwise not very active. Great value/sf for so close to campus. Utilities are also usually very low. Not the most up to date fixtures but not bad either.

Great Community

Location of The Village is not too far from SMU Campus. It takes hardly 20 mins for distance between SMU and The Village through SMU shuttle. Neighborhood is really good. Apartments are very spacious specially in Chase community. Management is always there whenever we are facing any kind of difficulty. The Village Police are patrolling entire neighborhood 24/7. Grocery stores are at 5-6 minutes walking distance.

The best living experience for every dollar I pay

Apartments are spacious enough considering the maximum number of residents who can live in them, very affordable and they come equipped with a cooking stove and an oven(some have a microwave as well but most don't), a refrigerator, a washing machine, Cooling-heating service, fans and lights in every room, windows with blinds, lots of power outlets, storage spaces and closet, hot and cold water supply and some have a fire-place too! The floors are completely carpet covered except kitchen and rest rooms which is kinda something expected in an American rental property. Internet and TV service is separate which people subscribe from Spectrum or At&t which are the two major providers in this area. Electricity, water, hot water and sewage(yes, water and sewage are metered too in Texas and charged separately, so get ready for that, my fellow Europeans and Asian migrants) are charged according to your usage every month separately but you pay it along with your monthly rent to the leasing office.

Great experience

The village is big with many options. It is safe and there is lot of greenery around. It is like living in the countryside and having the facilities of a modern town.

Getting around Vickery Meadow

Vickery Meadow Reviews

Vickery Meadow probably wouldn't have been our first choice because it can feel claustrophobic due to the density of apartments. However, our little corner has almost none of this feel. Holly Glen is tucked in a corner and backed by a forest. We're not comfortable with my wife walking alone apart from the SoPac (and then we try to shoot for times when it's busy). That said, we feel generally safe.
I honestly didn’t recognize this neighborhood name until I looked it up. Outside of the Village, the area doesn’t have much of an identity. Retail options nearby are nice and restaurants are good, but there isn’t much of a social scene. You’ll want to head down to lower Greenville, uptown, oak lawn, or deep ellum for bars and things to do. All of those are a short, cheap uber away so it isn’t a big deal.
While the Village feels like an escape from the city, Greenville ave. is right there, giving easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, and other kinds of shopping. Dallas proper is only about twenty minutes away by car, and DART is also nearby and easy to use. I have a 5-10 minute commute to campus most days, and if I didn't want to drive, the SMU express has several stops in the Village, making it easy to take (free!) public transportation.
I like the neighborhood. It is quiet and pedestrian friendly. It is great if you are a jogger or have a dog! There are sidewalks, a walking/running path, and a dog park across the street and accessible to anyone living in the Village.
I also like that there are three different grocery stores within a two-mile radius and many eateries off Greenville.
The entire Village property is beautiful and feels pretty safe; however, the surrounding areas are somewhat rundown and don't feel safe. I'm definitely glad that my complex is gated but would feel safer with more restricted access to the Village and apartment buildings.
Everyone in the neighborhood minds their business, and it is fairly quiet. This neighborhood is also a great place to meet up with friends since they have a number of bars and restaurants to choose from.
Easy to get around, shop, etc. Good grocery stores and gas stations nearby. Quick access to 75. Mostly chain restaurants but clean and high quality. Easy to get to SMU, North Park.
If your neighbors are students then it might be fine. If your neighbors are those who stay at home all the time and living on government subsidies, then it won't be pleasant.
