Great Value

Very happy with what I get for the rent I pay. Maintenance is very responsive to any requests or fixes you need in the apartment, pools are a little small but still get the job done. Have to pay for utilities and water separate from rent, but is just included with monthly rent payment so just make one monthly payment of rent and utilities. Cable and Wifi are separate and done on your end, though they have a spectrum rep who can help get it all set up

Worth the price

It's old and not so spacious, but the apartment is okay. You can hear what people upstairs are doing and saying. People living in this village used to be students and those with low income. Sometimes you can smell marijuana. Things always need to be fixed but the staffs are friendly in general.

Village is good

Generally it's good except that we can hear the step noise from upstairs. And we can see roaches occasionally.

Chase

Disadvantage of Chase, the apartment complex is very old. The windows probably are from 80's. However, the maintanance can fix anything in a 24 hours.

Best place to stay

Apartments are good and spacious. All are equipped with Refrigerator, Washer, Dryer, Dish Washer, Oven, Microwave, heater and cooler. So no need to spend extra money to buy necessary things. Maintenance requests are also resolved within 24 hours or even before that. Have many parking spots to park our cars, also there is no extra charge for visitors to park their cars for temporary purpose.

Affordable place near SMU

The apartment complex is very conveniently located and has all necessary services within a 1 mile radius. The maintenance is good too, and most of the requests are completed within 24 hours. Safety and security hasn't been an issue, specially with the Village Patrol service. One of the issues that bothers is that the floors and walls are really thin, so you can often hear footsteps from the apartment above.

Village Chase is the best

Apartments are spacious and location from SMU Campus is also not too far. Every apartment has Refrigerator, Washing Machine, Dryer, Microwave, Oven, etc. So we don't need to buy anything here. It has an average size swimming pool. Neighborhood is surrounded by trees which looks very pleasant. Also for our security, Village Patrol is there which works 24/7. Management is also good, all the workorders gets worked on the next day. Staff is also supportive here.

Getting around Vickery Meadow

Vickery Meadow Reviews

113 reviews
Vickery Meadow probably wouldn't have been our first choice because it can feel claustrophobic due to the density of apartments. However, our little corner has almost none of this feel. Holly Glen is tucked in a corner and backed by a forest. We're not comfortable with my wife walking alone apart from the SoPac (and then we try to shoot for times when it's busy). That said, we feel generally safe.
I honestly didn’t recognize this neighborhood name until I looked it up. Outside of the Village, the area doesn’t have much of an identity. Retail options nearby are nice and restaurants are good, but there isn’t much of a social scene. You’ll want to head down to lower Greenville, uptown, oak lawn, or deep ellum for bars and things to do. All of those are a short, cheap uber away so it isn’t a big deal.
While the Village feels like an escape from the city, Greenville ave. is right there, giving easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, and other kinds of shopping. Dallas proper is only about twenty minutes away by car, and DART is also nearby and easy to use. I have a 5-10 minute commute to campus most days, and if I didn't want to drive, the SMU express has several stops in the Village, making it easy to take (free!) public transportation.
I like the neighborhood. It is quiet and pedestrian friendly. It is great if you are a jogger or have a dog! There are sidewalks, a walking/running path, and a dog park across the street and accessible to anyone living in the Village.
I also like that there are three different grocery stores within a two-mile radius and many eateries off Greenville.
The entire Village property is beautiful and feels pretty safe; however, the surrounding areas are somewhat rundown and don't feel safe. I'm definitely glad that my complex is gated but would feel safer with more restricted access to the Village and apartment buildings.
Everyone in the neighborhood minds their business, and it is fairly quiet. This neighborhood is also a great place to meet up with friends since they have a number of bars and restaurants to choose from.
Easy to get around, shop, etc. Good grocery stores and gas stations nearby. Quick access to 75. Mostly chain restaurants but clean and high quality. Easy to get to SMU, North Park.
If your neighbors are students then it might be fine. If your neighbors are those who stay at home all the time and living on government subsidies, then it won't be pleasant.
