Southgate Review
I truly love living at Southgate. The location is great and management is always eager to help with any issues.

Every thing you need
This location is everything I need as a female living alone. It is gated & feels secure, plenty of space, perfect location (especially being walking distance from the stadium on game day), and my apartment is so quiet. Only drawback is a little bit of a slow response on repairs, but they communicate with you fairly well on that!

Just not the place to be.
It's quiet and convenient, but those are the only things it has going for it. Management is terrible. Issues always pop up everywhere, and they promise to fix them but nothing ever happens. It's right at a distance from the law center where it becomes inconvenient to walk, but it's still possible. Overall I do not recommend, but its also my only experience living in Baton Rouge, so maybe everywhere else is just as bad or worse.

Pretty Alright, with some issues
Your living space and bedroom will be great, if furnished well... But any problems you have to put in a service request for won't be fixed for weeks if not months.

Good
Close to campus and good price.

Location/Management
Location is convenient, but the management is definitely questionable.

Great apartment
Overall I've had a great experience at Southgate. The outside looks a little dirty but the inside is very nice. If you are trying to decide between Lark and Southgate, I would definitely choose Southgate.

Pretty good
not the cleanest place (carpet in hallways is kinda gross) but otherwise pretty good. It’s a no smoking complex, but my apartment reeked of cigarette smoke when I moved in so that took a while to deal with and was a bit of a hassle. Lately since it’s been getting warmer, there’s been a lot of noise/parties around the pool area late at night (1-2am) but management has been sending out emails saying that they’re fining those responsible. Nice amenities; overall, pretty satisfied considering the price I pay per month. Closets are huge and it’s a pretty large space for one person. The parking garage goes to every floor level, which is easy for move-in, bringing in groceries, etc. I recommend asking to tour your exact apartment before moving in (we would’ve noticed the smoke smell before signing the lease if we had done that).

Southgate Towers Review
Noisy, but nice at the right price - most likely overpriced

Would Recommend
It takes me 4-5 minutes to commute to school each day. The walls are concrete, so my apartment stays pretty quiet. Overall, it is a good place for a law student.
