Good Price (in pre-COVID times) but you get what you pay for
My experience at Connecticut Heights has been fine. We had a major roach problem over the summer, but they were mostly responsive and it has improved. The price is good, and the amenities like the pool and gym are great. Great proximity to AU. Metro is a little far and the walk back from the grocery store is up hill.

Connecticut Heights Apartments
I live in the main building (building 5) where the leasing office and concierge are. I love it here and it's fairly quiet. However, I have not heard good things about their other buildings. I have heard some of those buildings have roaches and stuff, but I've never had the issue.
Maintenance usually comes and fixes any issues within a couple days. They don't follow the 24-hour policy they say they have, but they are still fairly quick.
It's also a very popular student apartment complex. Very young people (I'm in the law school and we know of 11 law students who live in the complex).

Connecticut Heights
The apartment experience has generally been pretty great. The leasing office staff are friendly and helpful and work requests are addressed in a timely manner. The front desk isn’t the most organized when it comes to tracking packages, but I haven’t had any major issues. The apartment has lots of natural light, is a great price for it’s location, and is easy walking distance to Whole Foods, Target, Giant, the AU shuttle at Tenleytown and lots of restaurants.

Comfortable living
I've had a very good experience with management. They are prompt to respond to and fix any issues in the apartment. They were also very understanding in the renting process, and remain very open to any questions that I have at any time.

Expensive but priced fairly
Love this apartment despite the high price tag. Dog friendly, very safe neighborhood and QUIET. There are only 2 laundry machines and dryer per floor but I have yet to have much of an issue using the machines. If you want to be in the city without (an even) higher price tag, dog friendly, and quiet this is a good option. Not a lot of diversity in the neighborhood but never felt uncomfortable.

Great Place, just a little Pricey!
Pros: The gym is newly refurbished, and the study area available is a beautiful place to get your homework or work done, or just read or write. The apartments are dog friendly, and everyone is very neighborly and courteous. The staff are all genuinely nice and want to make sure you have the best experience. There is a bus stop right outside, but the metro is only a 15 minute walk. Also you have access to the outdoor pool in this complex, and access to the indoor pool across the street.
Negatives: Maintenance sometimes takes a while to get back to problems, but not always. The rent is a little pricey.

It's an ok place to stay
Connecticut Heights is an older apartment building. I lived in building one and it smelled bad and had old carpet. I did not feel safe walking into my building and it often creeped me out. Management was unorganized. The apartment is basically in the middle of no where and is not walkable. I lived here because it was affordable and within walking distance from the law school.

Good value, safe neighborhood
I love the quiet, safe, residential neighborhood which is cheaper than many places closer to campus. The restaurants and Politics and Prose bookstore within 2 blocks are great. The walk to the Metro and long commute to GW can be annoying.

Good Value Overall
I've lived at Connecticut Heights in Washington DC for almost 4 years and have been generally happy with the value. Every year when I consider whether to move, I conclude that the price, location, layout, and amenities can't be beat in the DC area.
The studio apartment is small but well designed so that there seems to be more space than there actually is. Also a large window overlooking Rock Creek Park makes it feel larger.
Street parking is fairly available. The pool is nice in the summer. The management has generally been quick to respond to repair requests.

Safe and great location
I love living here! It is close enough to the metro that I can get to the city in 15 minutes or less, and it's near some great restaurants and a book store. It is in a very safe location. I often work very late and go out on weekends and I feel very comfortable walking home alone from the metro late at night. The building itself is clean and spacious, I have a pretty big window and a breakfast bar. I love my apartment (though I think I'll aim for more closet room next time), and the kitchen is a great size. Lots of cute and friendly dogs in the building, too :) Gym is in the main building and is pretty great!
