Great Location

I absolutely love the location! It is close to so many different things, such as Whole Foods. The management is extremely helpful and is quick to solve any problem that arises. I have lived here for about a year and will definitely be renewing my lease.

Park Evanston - Pricey but Good Value

The Park Evanston charges higher rates than you could find elsewhere, but the location next to Whole Foods and a 10 minute walk to the Jake can't be beat. The gym is adequate and the social spaces are nice addition. Laundry in unit and large apartment space.

Awesome location and apartment

Park Evanston is in a prime location for Kellogg/Northwestern students and this convenience is one of the main draws. A very quick (8min) walk to the Jacobs building, next door to Whole Foods/Peets Coffee and within 5min walk of the beach, Metra and L, and great restaurants make it perfect. Also in-unit washer and dryers are so convenient as is the mail room downstairs with a dry-cleaning service. The building is very safe with a doorman and all of the apartments I've been in don't have any physical issues or drawbacks so you can always expect everything to work. The gym is a bit small but good enough for most workouts, pool only open for the first and last month of school essentially but otherwise there are few things to complain about. Since its a pretty safe, easy and nice apartment building it does come at a premium and can be a little costly depending on your expectations and number of roommates. In terms of expensiveness/newness the Sherman Plaza, 1717 Ridge and the Reserve are definitely fancier/newer/nicer but they will cost even more than the Park Evanston and the Reserve and 1717 Ridge are further from campus and not as close to everything in downtown Evanston.

Extremely Convenient

The Park Evanston is a convenient place to live for Kellogg students. It's close to many services (dry cleaners) and shops (Whole Foods, etc.) and is only a 10 minute walk from the Jacobs Center. Since the Park Evanston rents to many Kellogg students it's also a great place to meet and hangout with friends (especially in the winter months).

Great views & lots of conveniences

I really love the Park Evanston. It helps that I have an AMAZING view of Lake Michigan, as well as tons of natural light (those things make me happy). Can't beat being next door to Whole Foods, having a pretty nicely equipped gym, and being pretty close (~10 min walk) to the Jake. Only downsides are limited outside space (roof deck pool is closed in winter) and the price -- apartment isn't wildly expensive, but there are definitely less expensive places to live. But I REALLY like it here.

Park Evanston

In my opinion it is the most convenient apartment in Evanston. It is an 8 minutes walk from the university, offers printing room, cleaning service, gym, etc. Great place to live.

Spacious Apartment, Great Location

The Park Evanston is a pretty run-of-the-mill high rise apartment complex. I think its biggest selling point is its location (under 10 minute walk to campus) and its size (I have plenty of space, plus an in-unit washer-dryer). The amenities are adequate, but nothing special - there is a gym in the building, but it's very small; there is a package service; and the appliances are pretty modern. The building has been very responsive when I've had issues, as well. My biggest gripe is they charge for everything - it's $50 if you lock yourself out of your apartment! But overall, I'm pretty happy with my living situation in Evanston.

Downtown Evanston Reviews

Downtown Evanston has everything you need. E2 is walkable to campus, a Target, and plenty of restaurants, as well as Metra and L stations to get to Chicago. Right across the street is a Subway, a Thai restaurant, and a pizza place, plus there’s a 7-Eleven about a block away, so you’re very close to options if you need food in a pinch.
Perfect for grad school at Northwestern, but otherwise feels a bit suburban without a booming downtown. There are some good food/bar options, but also a handful of abandoned/empty retail locations -- I'm hoping that means new coffee shops/food venues are coming, but it doesn't look like it just yet.
All in all ideal downtown Evanston location. Very convenient for public transportation to Chicago, next door to local favorite Bennison's (love the late night smell of donuts baking), and walking distance to plenty of bars, restaurants, and stores. Once the Target goes up by Sherman Plaza and we have an alternative to Whole Foods close by this will be perfect.
McManus is located right next to Evanston downtown, so everything (restaurants, bars, groceries) is very close by. It's also right next to Northwestern campus (~15-18 minutes to Kellogg Global Hub by foot), which helps quite a lot, esp. in the winter when you'd want to keep your commute as short as possible.
There's plenty to do, but it still takes some effort to get downtown. If you want the quickest ride (metra), then you have to plan ahead and deal with the (infrequent) train schedule. The purple line only runs express during rush hour. Depending on the time of day, your commute can run 20 minutes to an hour and a half.
I would 100% live in Evanston when choosing where to live for my time at Kellogg. There are plenty of amenities of all sorts - everything from two (!) Whole Foods and a Trader Joe's to amazing restaurants (Stained Glass, Boltwood, Found) and quick joints (Freshii, Cozy, Blaze, Cheesie's, etc.) to good bars ranging from dive-y (Bat 17) to more upscale (Bangers & Lace) to great retail, workout options (barre, boxing, and regular gyms), salons, and handy storefronts like hardware, cleaners, etc. Feels like home very quickly!
I live just south of the main downtown area, and it's the perfect intersection of being close to the action but also a bit removed when you want some quiet. I like being a in a more residential pocket, so there is slightly less foot traffic and really nice areas to walk around with a dog, etc.
We're one block from the centre of downtown Evanston. Clearly Evanston isn't going to win any awards for nightlife, culture or dynamism. But, you're not going to get than anywhere near campus. Good news is you're 2 blocks from Davis, which gets you to downtown Chicago in 30 mins.
