Naval Square

We are VERY happy here. We have a young child and the atmosphere is great for families. Very secure and amenities are good for us, although some city buildings have superior pools and gyms. We like having a car here and it's included in price and right outside our door. Green space great for kids.

Naval Square

Pros: Naval square is a very family friendly place. Also, it is easy to bike/walk/take a bus to school from this place. The apartment is spacious and community is very pretty.

Cons: Won't find many classmates walking with you from home or campus. Might be difficult to find UBER pool with Wharton students.

Naval Square - The best family living in philly

Naval Square is the place to live if you have a family. There are always kids running around in the expansive front lawn, which means you get to meet lots of great people from Wharton outside your cluster AND people from outside the Wharton bubble. It's a little bit higher in price than other places but we've found it's very much worth it.

Best value in Philly

While many feel Naval Square is best suited for families, as a single dude I have loved my experience there. Rent is cheap, amenities are amazing, and I am a $3.70 Uber pool or short walk from Rittenhouse. My daily commute to school is only 5 minutes by bike, and with the expected completion of the Children's Hospital in the Spring of 2017, the area will continue to develop and grow.

Perfect for young professionals at HUP/CHOP

This beautiful, luxurious, modern gated community gives you numerous amenities including a large pool, state-of-the-art gym, and condominiums that friends and family say "look like hotels." Proximity to HUP/CHOP/PENN is a huge draw for me, and you are surrounded by plenty of other young professionals and their families throughout the complex. The large front lawn is also a great place to play sports with friends, play with your pets, or bring your children to meet the others within the community.

Naval Square

Excellent for University of Pennsylvania graduate students. Just a quick saunter across the bridge to get the school. The apartments are very nice, though a bit on the more expensive side for center city. The area is very safe (with gates) but it is 15 min walk or so to most of the downtown restaurants and hip areas. Management is can be a bit heavy handed with the regulations, but overall it is very worth it. Parking included is also excellent (and you can rent it out if you don't need it!)

Naval Square is excellent for families!

Naval Square is a great place to live, especially for families with young children, and/or pets. There's a true sense of community and we've made friends with countless neighbors. We feel very safe and love having a large yard to hang out in. It's somewhat expensive, but it's worth it for the perks- i.e. gym, pool, yard, gate, parking.

This neighborhood feels like a small, tight-knit community - I see friends around the neighborhood all the time! Once I lost my wallet nearby and a complete stranger tracked down my email to return it to me, with nothing missing. I love living here!
Quiet, friendly neighborhood with lots of grocery stores, convenience stores, and small restaurants nearby.
This small neighborhood is just south of Naval Square and offers an affordable alternative to Rittenhouse for those seeking a larger living space. The streets are very narrow but generally offer decent parking. The nearby power plant produces some mechanical hum, but never strange smells or smoke. The neighborhood is very close to the South Street bridge, offering excellent bike and foot access to UPenn and the Schuylkill River Trail. The neighbors are a combination of med school residents, nurses, and other local Philadelphians. The neighborhood has a safe feel and is generally very quiet.
Close to campus, relatively quiet, some restaurants nearby, only nearby grocery store is overpriced, lots of vets and pet stores, nice place for young professionals
Devil's Pocket is a cute , primarily residential neighborhood within walking distance to Rittenhouse House Square and University City.
Graduate Hospital/ Devil's Pocket is exploding with growth, including new local grocers, parks and green space. A great community
Highly residential and quiet. Not a lot of restaurants/bars in the immediate area, but plenty of options a short walk away.
Slowly gentrifying, with some good community and local business sponsored programming at the nearby Grays Ferry Triangles.
