3 Bedroom at Left Bank

We love living at the Left Bank. The apartment is only a short work to campus, but still very close to everything in Center City. I was lucky enough to get one of the few 3 bedrooms at the Left Bank and have been incredibly pleased. The floorplan is spacious and is perfect for living with roommates.

Outstanding place to live

Convenient to campus, excellent value (my 1BR is 1,100 sq ft), nicely appointed, and excellent management. This is 100 times better than living in Rittenhouse. Wouldn't change for the world.

Fantastic Apartment if you like living close to the law school

Conveniently located only a few minutes away from the law school. Spacious apartment that has been recently renovated. Large kitchen with granite countertops and nice appliances. Plenty of storage space. Concierges are very helpful and always friendly. Convenient to have a gym in the building. Several dining options on lower level. Only downside is feeling like you're stuck in the law school "bubble" sometimes.

Convenience

I have been fortunate to live at The Left Bank during my first year. It is only two blocks away from school and when you spend most of your day there it is nice to know that you don't have a long commute home. The building is very safe and the staff friendly. There are restaurants adjacent to the building which is always a nice option. A lot of other law students live in the building so you can meet people walking to and from school. Downsides are that it is a bit pricey compared to some of the apartments in Center City, the gym is small and slightly outdated equipment but it is never crowded, and if you want to go out at night it is a bit out of the way to get downtown CC so you will most likely have to uber everywhere. Other than that, I love where I live.

Expensive but worth it

A one-bedroom at the Left Bank is definitely a pricey option. No amenities are worth a stressful rent bill every month so be honest with yourself about budget! However, if it's within your budget, it comes with amazing natural light thanks to several large windows, high ceilings, incredible storage (separate storage unit in building, kitchen cabinets galore, linen closet, walk in bedroom closet, front hall closet, pantry), security, a helpful maintenance staff (they hung all of my art and mirrors and random wall things for free) (obviously I tipped them), a fantastic front desk staff, dry cleaning pick up and delivery service, a totally adequate if not elegant gym, furnished roof deck, convenient trash disposal, laundry in unit, and parking on premises. I personally love the convenience of a short walk to the law school and find it super easy to either walk or hop in an uber to get anywhere else in Philly. Law school can be stressful and exhausting and the sense of comfort coming home to an apartment that I love helps me maintain my sanity. It's also great to be a short walk from 30th St Station (Amtrak + Bolt Bus). Two bedrooms are a less expensive option but definitely go quickly and my personal opinion is a bad roommate can ruin even the best apartment. The bottom line is if it's within your budget and proximity to the law school is appealing to you, it's a great place to live, but there are definitely cooler neighborhoods and much less expensive options. Good luck 1Ls!

Left Bank Apartments

The layout of the unit is great (feels huge) and the safety and location are excellent, but the management doesn't always deal with problems in the most efficient way. Maintenence comes immediately (24/7) to do an initial fix to problems, but management isn't so good at implementing permanent solutions. (For example, if the apartment floods, we get blowers very quickly, but management has been slow to fix the leaks - which they know how to do.)

University City Reviews

University City feels very safe with so many students living in the area as well as the added presence of University security. There are plenty of restaurants and easy access to basic necessities (e.g. grocery store, pharmacy). I really like it because it makes getting to work super convenient and street parking is much more available for visitors (or if you're like me and occasionally borrow your parents' car) compared to other areas of the city. It is also very close to the Schuylkill River Trail for walking/running/biking, is a quick walk into Center City, and gives you easy access to a variety of public transportation as well as major highways.
I love living in this neighborhood! There are a few parks nearby, and there's all kinds of great food places. I definitely try to be cautious and aware of my surroundings, but overall I feel very safe where I live. I love that I can easily walk to school and that the SEPTA trolley lines go right past my house- easy to get to center city for internships, etc.

Lately it has gotten a little noisy at night on my street, but otherwise I have few complaints about the neighborhood.
Living along Baltimore Ave is great - tons of small shops, restaurants, and bars. It's also really easy to get to school or center city on the trolleys. Neighborhood has all the city amenities but is way cheaper and quieter than center city.
I am in UCity, right across the street from the law school. It's quiet but it is kind of far from rittenhouse and center city. There are only a few restaurants and bars around here, but its a short uber into the city.
University City is a bustling college town with plenty of bars, restaurants and nightlife. You don't need to go far to find whatever is you're looking for.
For Penn students, the location is perfect, less than a five minute walk to school. There are bars, food, etc though center city offers more options.
Very close to university and law school. Good fast food options. A bit far from downtown
Nice and clean, seemingly safe, not much to do in the area though
