Innova Review

Innova is such a great place to live for graduate health students. It's right across the street from the HEC and the dental building. Its a little on the expensive side, but being able to be a 3 minute walk from classes and study spaces is so worth it! The staff here is also amazing and it is a really safe place to live.

Amazing

In my opinion it is worth the money! Steps for the Health Education Campus, close to restaurants and the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. The building is extremely secure. Concierge is wonderful, they do help with pets and package delivery. Parking is safe in private parking garage.

Innova

It’s pretty good. Everything is clean and the rooms are pretty sound proof if you don’t count the noise from all the emergency vehicles that drive by.

I enjoy living here but will move after the convenience of HEC is gone

Good apartment, a bit pricey but great location by the HEC and close to the undergraduate campus. Not a whole lot to do in the area though, but very comfortable apartment to live in.

Innova is great!

Large, comfortable, and quiet apartment space. 24/hr concierge services. Friendly and responsive concierges and management staff. Surveillance cameras on every floor for added security. Nice gym space, sky deck with fire pits and lounge chairs, and communal lounge space for hosting events with billiards/ping pong table, TVs, and a kitchen. Walking distance to Cleveland Clinic main campus. Pet friendly with a dog park. Concierges will take your dog out to the dog park while you're away if you request it. Management is so great that they host periodic events for us to mingle with other residents, ranging from all you can eat sushi night, paint night, pumpkin carving, and more as well as weekly happy hour (free wine/snacks in the Lobby). Also, the Health Education Campus is literally across the street, so you can walk to school if you're a Case med/dental/nursing/PA student.

Expensive but nice

It is really nice to be such a short walk away from school. However, it can also feel somewhat claustrophobic at times to be so close to school, so keep that in mind.

Convenient and excellent management

Innova is conveniently located right across the street from the Health Education Campus, which makes commute to class in the morning very convenient. I enjoy using the gym in the apartment building, and overall the building is clean and well-maintained. The management and conceirge are also friendly and helpful. They also have a sky deck for use in the summer. I highly recommend Innova for students who can afford the higher price and want a quick walk to school every morning.

Expensive but convenient

Innova is very pricy but right across the street from the HEC, so getting to and from school is a <5 minute endeavor. The property is maintained well and has some nice amenities. There is not a lot in the immediate area around the apartment building in terms of food or things to do, though the main campus is only about a mile away (easy to get to via shuttle, which stops right near Innova, or walking).

Great location! Good apartments, but expensive

Great location! Right next to the medical school. Management is generally good. Biggest issue is the high cost, but seems to be worthwhile for the first two years of medical school at least.

Getting around Hough

Hough Reviews

88 reviews
This neighborhood is fairly close to many restaurants and very close to the medical campus; however, it is also not a very safe area and I would not feel comfortable walking alone in this area at night.
Below average around campus. Not easily walking distance to grocery store. Would benefit from car in that regard. 10 minute walk to some restaurants and CWRU HEC and pharmacy (that I don't recommend sending scripts to). Near Cleveland clinic. If you're looking for the college feel of being able to walk everywhere, Hough isn't really that vibe. Parts of Hough are fine, others are struggling with many abandoned buildings. Edges of neighborhood are being gentrified so it's a weird dynamic of foreclosed homes and mansions on the same block. Doesn't receive as much Cleveland money is it should. For example streets are in rough shape. But has some nice parks and right next to the university circle amenities/parks/museums.
The neighborhood does not feel safe to walk around at night, but it is very close to campus so it is a tradeoff.
Just on the end of sketyness. Where the apartment is is good, but anymore north is not. Close to Maltz Performing art studio which always has a CASE police vehicle at which is nice.
The surrounding neighborhood is not ideal, but I have never felt unsafe as a resident. If you travel in the right directions, there should not be a problem. I run outside by myself during the day and have always felt perfectly safe. There have been a very small number of incidents outside of the complex at night, but the building is secure and if you avoid walking outside alone at night then it shouldn't be a concern. I would qualify the HEC/Cleveland Clinic campus/University Circle more as my "neighborhood" than Hough itself since that is where I spend most of my time.
Very close to the school and clinic. Other than that there isn’t too much to do- it’s mostly the medical buildings. There are a few places to eat and CWRU main campus is within walking distance. The grocery stores that I like in Cleveland (Trader Joe’s and Giant Eagle) are a bit of a drive ~25 minutes. The closest target and Walmart and also a ~15 minute drive.
There's not a lot to do in the immediate vicinity, however there are a couple of restaurants (Penn Station, Fluffy Duck, Urban Kitchen) and a pharmacy on the first floor. There's more space for other shops/restaurants to open in the future. Plus, there's a Rite Aid right across the street, and the convenient walk to both UH and CCF are great!
Most residents here are docs or pre-docs. Very polite and respectful to each other.
