Glens on Battery Lane reviews and highlights
- parking included in rent
- older building
- renovated in the past couple of years
- great location a few blocks from the Bethesda metro station and walking distance to restaurants and shops
Very basic apartment but cheap price
I have chosen to live in this apartment for 2 years, because it is close enough to AU (2 metro stops away), the rent is affordable on my graduate student stipend (I pay half the rent, split with a roommate), and the utilities being included means that it is actually warm in the winter and cool in the summer without a massive bill. There is no dishwasher or garbage disposal. Management is decent -- we had some issues moving in (the unit we were given was not like the unit we signed the lease for) but we were able to resolve it and since then they have been fine! They didn't raise our rent for COVID, even though we had already signed a new lease that agreed to the rent increase so that was nice. It's pretty bare bones but it gets the job done. It's right by NIH which is convenient as well.

Apartment review
Great place especially for the price. Grocery store is right here. Apartment is slightly old so ceilings and walls are thin, certain things don’t work perfectly but the service is really good and they have someone to fix anything quite quickly. There is a trail and green areas to walk on nearby and rock creek park is also close by. Downtown Bethesda is lively and nice.

Older apartments, but worthy
The price is very good, the apartments are older but very well kept. The management is not the most responsive, but maintenance works very well

The Glens
The Glens on Battery Lane is overall a good apartment building. It is located a few blocks from the Bethesda metro station and are within minutes of walking to restaurants and shops. So the location is great. The building itself is a bit old, but livable. The Management team is nice and very responsive. This fits young people living by themselves or as a couple more than for families with children.

Close to Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle
A nice place to move after graduating college. Very close to Bethesda life! Trash removal is a simple process. Though the walls to other apartments are a bit thin. Additionally, there is no window in the bathroom so it gets gross quickly. I live in a corner apartment and thermostat is in main room so sometimes the bedrooms get cold/hot when the thermostat says that they are exactly how we want it.

The best for my needs
The apartment is an older building but renovated in the past couple of years, so it has new carpeting, appliances, cabinets in the bathroom and kitchen. It is pricey, but comparable to other places in the area, which is walking distance to the Bethesda metro. It is unique in the area in that rent includes parking, which is nice. I always feel safe even living by myself. My neighbors are very friendly and often introduce themselves to me in passing. The location is .8 miles from the metro, so a 9/10 since it isn't right on top of the metro. I could have saved some money and gone with an older/unrenovated unit, but I preferred the "new" feel without paying in excess of $2,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, which is what the going rate is around here for new places. Oh, and I have tons of closet space! It also allows me my cat, and I can walk to work, restaurants, bars, and pretty much everything I could want.
