The Lyon
It is a very quiet neighborhood that is conveniently located by the metro that goes straight to GW. It also is a nice modern building.

Lyon Place @ Clarendon
This is the highest quality apartment that I toured while looking at places.
It is certainly more expensive than other apartments in the area, however I think the added value in better furnishings, utilities included, real hard wood floors, thick walls (I never hear my neighbors), separate bathrooms and a prime location (right above Trader Joes and only a block from the metro) makes it totally worth it.
The Clarendon neighborhood is overall a pretty nice place to live. I like it because it strikes a balance of being close enough to work that my commute is only a half hour yet I'm still close enough to the city to take advantage of what DC has to offer relatively easily. The neighborhood itself is pretty cool, there is a fair amount of retail, restaurants and bars that are within walking distance. The culture is a little boujee and the majority of people seem to be young professionals or young families.

Pricey but unmatched convenience
The property itself is owned and operated by a single company. The building houses Lyon Place apartments, as well as office spaces and retail, notably Trader Joe's.
It's roughly 5 minutes from my apartment door closing until I'm on the metro platform. Trader Joe's is accessible from an interior tunnel, meaning if it's bad weather you never have to go outside to get groceries.
The units have gas stoves, which was a huge plus for us. Fixtures are updated throughout, with stone counters and wood or tile everywhere except the bedroom itself. Cabinet space is a little lacking.
Building tenants are generally a little older, lots of young families. If you are on the Garfield St. side, you will likely get some street noise from the Bracket Room downstairs on the weekends or during major sporting events.
The pool is a small lap pool and is only open for very limited hours in the early morning or late evening. The pool is generally in-demand, which can make it hard. It is not a social pool.
The gym is lacking if you are trying to do any serious strength training, but there is a Gold's and a WSC about 2 blocks away.
The location is unbeatable in terms of bars, restaurants, etc. in the Arlington area.
Overall we've been satisfied with it as a place to live for a year or so. Long term, we would probably save some money and look for a place closer to the next stop on either end of the silver line.

Nice but too nice
The apartment is lovely with lovely amenities, but it is more than I need and therefore more expensive than I want to pay. Walking distance from the best bars and restaurants in Clarendon, in the same building as a Trader Joe's, across the street from the metro. Everything is extremely convenient. The apartment is smaller and more expensive than other apartments that are less convenient though. I wouldn't mind paying less to live further from these places.

Love this place!
Great amenities and very nice apartment. The best part is the convenience above the Trader Joe's in Clarendon.

Management is not good
They will raise your rent a lot and only tell you 2 days before you have to give your 30 days notice. You have to repay your community/gym fee every year even though machines are constantly broken. The apartment is nice but you can find the same and cheaper a block away.

Management is not helpful
The apartment is very nice but overpriced. They will tell you your new rent price 2 days before you have to give your notice. And you have to repay community fee every year. Gym equipment is constantly broken. I would look elsewhere.
