Review
I was a bit curious about living in DC before I moved here. I hadn't been able to make it up to the area to do an in-depth apartment search, and everything I had been online searching for throughout the summer was very expensive. I relied on my knowledge of the DC-Arlington area from an internship I did a couple years prior, and found this studio apartment in a great building in an even better location. Anywhere along the metro line is where I was looking, and this building is just 3 blocks away from an Orange/Silver line running straight into Virginia Square in just over 10 minutes.

An 'okay' place to live
I personally do not like that I cannot control my A/C. Also, the property management does not repair elevators in a timely fashion. Further, I was once unable to do laundry for a month because the payment system in the laundry room was out of service. The concierge has trouble locating my packages. On the positive side, my studio is quite spacious and the maintenance is very attentive whenever I have an issue within my unit. The apartment complex is overall more pleasant during the warmer weather than during the colder.

No Complaints
456 sq. ft. studio apt with barebones amenities and high rent, but very safe and in a fantastic location. Old building, but upkeep is on point. Have not had any maintenance issues (Have been here 3 months at time of writing this review).
Pros:
Great staff, 24/7 concierge
Great neighborhood, feels very safe, access only by key fab for residents.
No maintenance issues in my apt. in three months, very move-in ready
Pet friendly
laundry, trash, recycling in building
Cons:
Very expensive for a barebones studio apt under 500 sq. ft. (You're paying for the location)
Almost zero kitchen counter space (2-3 sq. ft.?)
Temperature control within my apt is minimal, but I haven't frozen or roasted yet.

1500 Mass. Apartments: A Decent Start in D.C.
With a roommate, I paid a little over $1000 a month for rent, which was reasonable overall compared to other places I've heard 1Ls stay at. Better than GW Aston Housing because you get to stay there over the summer (assuming you want to work in DC your 1L year). Pets allowed, guests allowed at all times, great concierge, gym on the second floor, common room on the first floor, Mini-Mart on the ground floor with all of the essentials (and alcohol!). It's about a fifteen minute walk to GW Law, and the walk itself is through a great part of town. As for other travelling, its a ten minute walk to the McPhearson Metro stop, which gives you the ability to move around the city without a whole lot of problems.
The only negatives are that the rent can be a bit much, especially without a roommate. The kitchens and bathrooms are pretty bare-essentials as well.
Overall, its a great place to start in D.C. You'll definitely only want to stay there for a year, but until you have a chance to get a feel for the city and be able to see apartments in-person before you rent them, 1500 is the way to go.

Great value in awesome location
It's been great. Affordable for the area, has everything I need. Central Air (no AC) which isn't awesome but otherwise building is good.

Positive!
Love the location but wish there were bigger kitchens and laundry was not communal. I love that there is a gym and a resident lounge--these things are so nice and useful! A dishwasher in the unit would be nice, though. The community is incredible--they have events for the building all the time!

Enjoy living at 1500 Mass
I have lived at 1500 Mass for over 1 year now and I really enjoy it. The maintenance team comes as soon as there is a problem in my apartment, the leasing office is very helpful and the people are all nice!
