Sky House is a Pretty Place to Live...It Ends There,

The best thing about Sky House is that it is a very beautifully designed building and the interior decoration and design are simply superb. The attention to design detail with regards to decorations is easy to see from the moment you enter the building, explore the common areas, two level gym etc, and apartments. However, it is overpriced and the apartments are very small. It just isn't worth the price considering the area is up and coming so there is not much to do in the area. There is a safeway and a few (maybe 2) restaurants surrounding but other than that you need to go to Navy yard or Eastern Market to really have some fun. The apartments themselves are small as said, but also poorly designed architecturally speaking. The floor to ceiling windows are terrible for the winters. The living room stays cold and the bedroom with a window is so cold as well because of this. They are not meant for these DC cold winters, at all. Because of this, the second bedroom which is like a little box as it has no window exposure heats up (in winter) and (cools down drastically) in summer so that room is always on the extreme end of things. The second bedroom also only has a sliding door (barn door) and cannot lock or fully cover the room! The other bedroom does have a proper door but the bathroom for that room does not have a bathtub. There are other design flaws but I HIGHLY encourage you to not live here as there are so many other buildings that have more spacious (or at least better designed) layouts for their 2 bedrooms. The rooms area also so close that not only does the second bedroom have NO privacy, you can hear everything!
