Idaho Terrace Review
I've had a great experience at Idaho Terrace so far. My studio has just enough space for me (even with my winter clothes and many plants). I feel very safe in this area, which is important for me since I live alone. It is close to school and some bus stops, but I do wish it was closer to the metro. Management is very responsive and very friendly. I do wish it had a dishwasher and in unit laundry. It is humid, being an older building, but once I got a mini dehumidifier it has been very comfortable. It is a very quiet building, I don't see or hear others very often, which on one hand is great because there is not a lot of noise, but socially I haven't met many people which I'm a little disappointed about.
A good place at a good price
While it does not have fancy amenities, Park Crest is a great place that is clean, quiet, and not too expensive. I feel safe walking around, and have not had any issues with loud neighbors. Management is quick to respond to issues that may arise.
Great rent controlled apartments
I've lived in my apartment for 5 years and have no plans to move. The apartment gets good light, is spacious, and the management is great. The only downside is no washer or dryer or in-unit laundry.
Idaho Terrace Review
experience good
Management is not good
The apartment itself is good, but the management is really bad. Does not have amenities such as pool, gym or doorman.
Fairly good space!
Overall I have had a positive experience. The maintenance team is fairly responsive and the property is well-managed. Rent is rather expensive for the location of the complex.
Surprisingly Good
I've had a good time renting from this company. Maintenance is timely. Public use areas are usually clean. My only complaint is the expensive laundry machines
Great place to live
Kew Gardens is very convenient to campus as well as the Dupont area. The building is older but has a lot of charm and beauty. The management company is responsive and quick to help.
Good Good - Not Bad
Great location
Responsive management
Close to restaurants and cafes
Close to buses, trains, always bikes on the CaBi racks
Excellent
Great location. Very homey!
higher rent price, yet it’s quiet, well-accommodated & well-located
Pros
- 📞 Leasing office was communicative and efficient. Move-in was smooth (loading dock and elevator available)
- ☕️ Well-accommodated lobby: snacks, coffee machine and magazines
- 🌳🎾 Lots of trees and flowers nearby. Georgetown’s Rose Park & N Street Tennis Courts are walking distance
- 🚶♂️Walking distance to GW Law (15 minutes), Trader Joe’s (5 minutes), the West End Neighborhood Library (5 minutes) & restaurants
- Ⓜ️ Metro accessibility: walking distance to blue/orange/silver (Foggy Bottom) & red lines (Dupont Circle) + buses nearby
- So quiet you can hear crickets at night
- 🖨️ Amenity Wi-Fi in business center (PrintWithMe printer = free printing! No paper needed)
- 🏋️♀️ Fitness center that has the essential cardio and weight equipment. Smaller sized gym, yet has natural light
Cons
- 💨📢 Loud air conditioner and washer
- 🛜 Resident is responsible for Wi-Fi and utilities
- 📦 Occasionally disorganized package room
- ♻️ No recycling trash chute (there’s a bin instead). You have to take big recycling bags and broken down boxes to the trash room yourself
Good to know
- 🔑🔑 You receive two sets of traditional keys + key fob for front entrance
- 🆘 No 24-hour receptionist (yet there is an emergency number you can call)
- 🐶 🏊♀️ 🏫 Near Francis Dog Park, Community Pool & Francis-Stevens school. Pool is free to use if you have proof of DC residency
- 🚒 Near a fire station, yet 24th St NW is quieter than M Street NW
- 🏨🏢 The immediate area has lots of hotels and office buildings nearby. If you face 24th St NW, the light from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) building may seep in at night. You need to walk a couple of blocks east on N St NW for it to feel residential.
Location phenomenal but lots of nickel and diming
Location is fabulous, short walk away to rosslyn metro and peaceful neighborhood. However Bernstein loves to charge residents for petty things (had free printing- taken away, utilities go up to $150 in the winter because it’s averaged over all apartments, unkept promises about amenities with “complementary” amenities fee, etc). Plus laundry costs at minimum $5 to wash and dry. It’s good if you want to be close but this place is not a bargain. Management office is somewhat responsive but unfortunately this is another overpriced building.
No complaints
Beautiful home, lots of space, good connectivity.
Sub-par
Apartment has cockroaches. One of the elevators is frequently broken and the freight elevator is often used for moving, resulting in only one elevator for the whole building. The maintenance is prompt, but otherwise everything else is terrible. Difficult to communicate with leasing/management.
