Central Location

The Savoy is located perfectly. It's near GW University, several Starbucks, and DuPont. Although the location is fantastic, the rent is a bit high for the amenities. Not all apartments are renovated, and the gym is less than stellar, but the studio is rather spacious.

Way too Expensive for what you get

I should've lived in a house with my buddies in Capitol South instead.

Review of The Savoy

The Savoy is a solid place for living and working. It's centrally located and well maintained. It's an older building, but for DC not as old or decrepit as I've seen. The location is central, which can be noisy, but great if you're social. Definitely look into it!

Wonderful experience overall, but a little pricey

While expensive for a studio apartment, I really can't find much, if any, fault with the Savoy. I've got all the space I need, the bathroom has marble countertops, I cook extensively and enjoy the kitchen space and above all, there's a sizeable balcony if you live above the ground floor, which is amazing in the warmer months. Management are very responsive to maintenance requests, utilities included, gym is small but sufficient for my needs, in-house laundry.

One small issue: For AT&T, I have abominable cell service inside. I've gotten texts saying "I called you a hundred times, why didn't you pick up?" despite me getting exactly zero calls. Have also pissed off quite a few food deliverymen because of this.

Nice apartment for student s

Great space, walking distance to the GW Campus, Dupont Circle, Georgetown, etc. The resident manager is really the best part. But minus one for elevators that always break down. I think it's time to invest in a new system.

Basic Apartment, Great location

There are certainly no frills with the apartment but it is located in a great location and it is generally well-kept. I have a clean, airy space and the building is very quick to respond to any resident issues. I have never had a problem with my space.

This place rocks

It is so close to everything that I would ever need to be going to and is very friendly to the disabled community. There are many fun and interestng things to do in the area and living in the DC Metro Area is a real treat to everyone in the building. Great people and amazing friends

Great Location

Location, Location, Location. If you are looking for an apartment near Foggy Bottom and Dupont Circle and both near GW and Georgetown. If you want an apartment located near metro stops then The Savory is perfect. Downside- not all rooms are renovated

Great location

I love the Savoy for its location. While the exterior and common areas are dated and a bit dingy, the inside of my apartment is just fine. The staff at the Savoy are great and really friendly. I have a large balcony, which is a major perk that all units have. Like many apartments in the area, the Savoy can be noisy with the GW hospital nearby and general traffic noises. Overall, a nice and quiet building with great location and good management.

Love this area, right near Logan Circle and 14th street which has so much good food and nightlife!
Amazing neighborhood. Close to GW and close to so much good food and nice restaurants.
Sometimes noisy, but the front desk quickly deal with it if you ask
Great, Safe neighborhood with great food and close to campus.
Foggy Bottom/West End are great for 1Ls -- you will get to know the area around school and you will be conveniently within a few blocks of GW. There are a lot of food options, but night life is lacking (though you're a short walk to DuPont and Georgetown). There are plenty of busses and metros around.
Good only in the sense that it is near the school, that you can receive warnings from the school and D.C. (if signing up), that you can be assured of safety generally even if coming in late due to pulling off night studies in the library. However, noise levels are high, so you can hardly study indoors at home because of people wanting to earn money in exchange for their loud and terrible performances. This means that you may ultimately end up outside for work or rest during morning/afternoon. Noise in the evening can be high too due to some people having gone drunk. Noise (some loud trucks and mostly machine sounds) and lights can be too much for sleeping deeply.
It's really only convenient because of how close the law school is. Otherwise, I would not live here. Definitely a business/corporate area that shuts down on the weekends. Not a lot of options for going out to eat unless it's either overpriced or fast food. The only grocery store that's walking distance is Whole Foods, which I personally hate shopping at.
The Aston is the furthest GW housing from the campus, so we had to walk more than any other student to get to class. We are also the furthest away from any Metro station, but still not considerably far when you look at the big picture. There are grocery stores, bars, and restaurants nearby which is a perk, but it is pretty noisy around here. But I guess that's anywhere in Downtown DC. There are always cars honking, ambulance sirens, etc. But the area seems pretty safe.
