Overall rating 8.3/10, based on 15 renter reviews Write a review
The Bond reviews and highlights
- brand new appliances with in-unit washer and dryer
- smaller gym
- location is perfect for access to the DuPont GUTS bus stop
Management is the concern
Love it here but the management doesn't get to items very quickly and the package center isn't up as often as they say it is. Also, rent goes up 6% every year no matter what.

Good location for reasonable price
Short, 7 minute walk to Georgetown bus for school as well as close metro access. The apartment is on the smaller side but residence managers are very responsive to any issues or needs. Laundry in apartment and gym in basement (with basic equipment). Overall would live here my second year as well.

Modern, sleek apartment in a great location
I love my apartment! The location on the southwest side of DuPont circle is an awesome neighborhood (in DuPont but close to Foggy and Georgetown) and perfect for commuting to McLean/Tysons because you're close enough to walk to the silver line at Foggy Bottom or drive and not get stuck in too much DC traffic. My commute is 40-45 min door-to-door.
Beyond location, the building is so nice. Each unit is sleek and modern with new appliances and washer dryer in unit (bonus: all of them have Nest thermostats, which is fun to connect to an Amazon Alexa and makes electricity cheap!) The service is great (we completely abuse the free maintenance, which is awesome) and I feel very safe living there. The modern feel of the apartment also lends itself perfectly to ikea furniture, which is awesome for someone looking to buy cheap furniture right after school. :) We always get tons of complements from our friends on how nice it is. One minor downside is that the units are on the smaller side (mine is 625 sq ft for a two bedroom), but honestly the space is used so efficiently that it doesn't even feel small. Plus coming out of college where you aren't used to having a lot of space, it's totally fine, and it also means less furniture to buy!
Overall great building! Definitely recommend!

Great first apartment
I have really enjoyed living at The Bond for almost a year now. The management and maintenance are generally very responsive - aside from a brief time this year when there was a lot of turnover among the agents. I like that we have a concierge every day of the week - could only be improved if their hours were a little longer (they're there from 6-10 on weekdays, 12-10 on Saturdays, and from 12-6 on Sundays). I live on the top floor, so I have a lot of natural light coming in to my unit; however, I know that units on the lower floors do not have that. It's a great space for pets - I have a cat and the people around me have dogs. I never hear their dogs bark, and I never hear any external voices in my apartment except for if someone is walking right by my door that leads to the hallway. The units themselves have been renovated and are very nice. It's expensive but it's pretty standard for that area of DC. There's no pool and the gym downstairs is small, but I actually prefer the smaller feel to this building as opposed to those huge downtown buildings. Overall, definitely a nice place to live in a great location.

Great location, apartment features are new.
Location is perfect for access to the DuPont GUTS bus stop. In between DuPont and Washington Circles on New Hampshire Ave. Can walk to Georgetown campus in 40 minutes if need be, or if you enjoy it, across the M or P Street bridges. Apartment appliances are excellent and feel new and modern. Maintenance staff has proven to be great fixing two of my complaints about malfunctioning outlets and a toilet within one-two days. No problems since. If you have an apartment unit facing New Hampshire Ave be prepared to listen to noisy traffic and quite a few sirens going by with the GW hospital just a few blocks south. No rooftop access. A small gym is in the basement but the ceiling in the basement is very low (my head barely clears the room if i'm jogging on a treadmill). Also note that the unit sizes are smaller on average compared to other buildings because this was a former office building renovated into apartments. There are pets allowed on certain floors (none on my floor). Quiet neighbors for the most part and stays quiet because of the smaller building size.

Great location and building!
The Bond has been a great place to live as a student at GW. It's pretty close to campus and the Foggy Bottom area, but Dupont is also really easily accessible, so we've been able to explore a new area of DC.
The management is really helpful; we've had a few minor things go wrong in the apartment (loose towel rack, washer door wouldn't open) and they've been really quick to get things fixed.
We live in a garden level apartment, so there is a little bit of noise from the street, but we have a lovely patio that faces the not-very-crowded Ward Place that more than makes up for that.

Perfect location with minor issues
I have lived at the Bond for close to 2 years and have had an overall wonderful experience. The pros highly outweigh the cons that I have, but this is likely dependent on the very specific things I wanted to have in my living quarters.
Pros: The location is perfect and the units (and appliances) are all brand new. The maintenance service is fast and thorough when responding to requests. Though the units are "micro" sized, the entire length of my hallway has built in bookshelves that more than compensate for the lack of space in the bedrooms.
Cons: The concierge service is highly convenient - when they are there after 1pm and before 9pm - but the staff does not man the desk 24hrs which can be inconvenient when I need my packages but can't get home while they are working. The building's WiFi is frustratingly spotty at peak times and tends not to connect when I am in my bedroom.
