Apartment

Definitely convenient and close to campus. I love having my own bathroom. Management is definitely a bit difficult to pin down when you need things and the building is not the nicest in streeterville. But I lived there for 3 years and it’s a good spot for the price

Very Good

My favorite thing about the 2-bedroom I live in is the amount of space for each resident. Both bedrooms have their own full bathrooms, a good amount of floor area, and ample closet space. As a result, the common area is fairly small, but overall I really like the layout. The location is another big positive (close to the medical campus and to the beach), but a downside is that the unit itself and the appliances it came with were not in tremendous shape.

Love Living in Lake Shore Plaza

I love living at Lake Shore Plaza. My apartment is updated, the pool is a descent size, the pool deck is huge and management is very responsive whenever something is wrong. I would highly suggest this building if you like nice but affordable living in the city!

Lake Shore Plaza

I like the apartment because it's in a great neighborhood, I have an excellent view, it's spacious and the staff is extremely nice. I don't like it because the elevator situation is super frustrating. Sometimes only one or none of them work. It's annoying with all of those people.

Older building, good value

The Streeterville area is booming and this building is one of the oldest apartment buildings in the neighborhood. Rent is below market price in the area, which is a huge plus. The real downside is that the building is starting to show its age and the management can't keep up with the necessary repairs. The elevators are always broken. Sometimes it takes up to ten minutes to get on an elevator in peak traffic hours. As for the quality inside of the unit--no complaints. Safe, quiet, clean. Other than the elevators, I'm pretty happy here.

Great Place to Live, Horrible Elevators

Everything has been wonderful but there are regularly elevators down and when they are working they are extremely scary. Most of the doormen are very friendly. There is dry cleaning in the building. Laundry space is surprisingly big but there are other tenants who seem to be running a laundry service out of there so it can be occasionally difficult to find an open machine.

Living in Streeterville

Living in Streeterville can be expensive, but it's worth it. Our view from our apartment is magnificent, I have never seen this type of view even in owned condos. Living in the city is a short term plan for us, but the location is wonderful. We are five minutes away from the lake, 7 minutes away from the river and 10 minutes away from the magnificent mile. I would strongly recommend living in the area, especially if you can split the rent with someone else :o) Thank you!

Value for money with nice location

Lake Shore Plaza has nice apartments with view to Lake Michigan and spacious rooms. The best part of their apartments is the number of closet and closet area. It is very spacious and helps to put in all you clothes, baggage and extra boxes in them. Rooms are good and maintenance staff is nice and quick. Needless to say, location is awesome with 5 min walk to Ohio beach and Navy Pier.

Nice location, good rooms but could have more amenities

Rooms are big and spacious and location of building is very nice with Whole Food and Other big stores just couple of blocks away. Michigan Ave is 4 blocks away and Navy Pier is just 10 min walk away. Management could be more pro-active in solving issues related to elevator and opening pool area.

Streeterville Reviews

Perfect location for Feinberg, almost feels like a small slice of a college town because so many of your neighbors will be students, residents, nurses, etc at the hospital. You do get sirens fairly often depending on where you live since the emergency room is very close. The neighborhood doesn't have too many restaurants/bars but it is walking distance to River North and Gold Coast and the rest of the city is easily accessed by public transport. Much safer than most neighborhoods in Chicago.
Streeterville is a very nice neighborhood. There are plenty of parks and grocery stores. There is some late night crime due to the location downtown and close to the beach, but overall nothing worse than anywhere else.

There are some more expensive restaurants and fast food places. Navy Pier attracts a lot of tourists and they can be annoying to navigate around.
I enjoy living in Streeterville since it's near many of Chicago attractions without feeling overwhelming like in the Loop. I am able to walk around safely at night and I like going jogging in Millennium Park. My biggest complaint would be the lack of greenery in the area and how the city can feel a little bit insulating at times. Public transportation is great. This area is pricey, which is why I decided to have a roommate.
The Streeterville area was still pretty sleepy when I moved here three years ago. Since then, there has been an incredible amount of development. New luxury apartments and condos are going up, several new restaurants, a brand new target and Whole Foods. Its become a great place for professionals who enjoy living downtown, but without the club crowds in River North.
There are a few buses that are near by that help get residents down to the loop. Also it's pretty easy to walk around and the cross walks are pedestrian friendly. I'm always able to get around by foot and buses/trains. Streeterville is a very safe neighborhood and I've never felt unsafe walking around at night. The streets are well lit.
Noise is not usually too big of an issue in this neighborhood; it's pretty quiet at night.
There are multiple grocery stores nearby for multiple choices. Also there are a bunch of great places to eat so one will not get bored with options.
While on the expensive end in Chicago, streeterville is safe, has all the necessities (look for apts near grocery stores if you don't have a car!!), is super close to school (and most feinberg students so convenient for socializing), and is super close proximity to restaurants and bars.
This building is located in the center of everything you could possibly need. Whole foods and Jewel within walking distance, easy to get to the lake front, and plenty of good restaurants and bars. The only down side is that it does not really have a "neighborhoody" feel.
Love how close we are to the medical school, makes going to class really easy. A lot of students live in Streeterville so it is very easy to hangout with friends. There are also a few coffee shops in the neighborhood that are very fun to study at!
