Family-friendly, quiet, near bus stop
I love Lorimar Townhomes. It's a quiet complex, right next to a bus stop. It's a perfect home for my family and me (two adults, two kids), and it's incredibly affordable. I wouldn't choose to live anywhere else in Lawrence.

Pretty good value
Lorimar is pretty decent management as far as apartment renting goes. From what I've looked at, for the price level it's about as good as it gets in Lawrence. It's technically a townhome, so we have next door neighbors but we don't have neighbors above or below us. The units don't have a lot of square footage, but they are designed in a way that is compact and a very good use of space. Our apartment isn't very big, but it has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a washer and dryer in a closet. The units are also not extremely bland/bare bones looking like other cheap apartments. There are interior details that make it look a little nicer, like a brick fireplace and nice floors. They allow one dog per unit (no cats), so that was a big perk for us as well. I think a lot of people live there because it's dog-friendly, and it is always nice to see furry friends around. We will move eventually, though, because they don't have fenced-in backyards and I really want one for my dog, which is pretty much the only thing this place doesn't have on my list of wants/needs.
