Would recommend!

Really love this place and the doormen are all great (especially Alex)! I can get from my apartment to my team room in under 10 minutes and it's conveniently next to a lot of major bus routes. Amenities are great, we have a pickleball/tennis court, pool/hot tub, and a pretty decked out gym. Everything but electricity is covered in utilities.

Some of the apartments do occasionally have cockroach issues (although they're not the German cockroaches that infest your kitchen, but rather just occasional ones that crawl up the pipes). The management has been pretty responsive in sending pest control and it's taken care of fairly quickly.

Happy, condo association is mid

I've been incredibly happy with our unit, our landlord, and the timeliness of maintenance. The condo association is antagonistic at times (e.g. I put my bike in the wrong storage facility and they didn't let me get it out for almost a week, I got a chemical burn from the hot tub and they refused to compensate me). I no longer use the bike room or the hot tub and my experience is back to being positive. Big fan of the front desk staff!

Great for value

Love that we have individual landlords so any maintenance or issues are very individualized!

Solid

For what you get, it’s one of the better values in streeterville. No on-call maintenance though because it’s a condo building. Only other drawback is that if you leave your key in your room, it’s like $60 to get let in after 5 PM.

Grand Ohio Review

I have had a pretty good experience at the Grand Ohio. My unit was newly renovated at the time. It's a nice building. It has a gym with a full weight room, cardio room with treadmills, ellipticals, stair machine, stationary bikes, Peloton bike and Peloton rowing machine, regular rowing machines, some pilates machines, punching bag for boxing, kettlebells. Also has a swimming pool with small hot tub, and an outdoor tennis court and pickleball court. About a 5-7 min walk from the main Feinberg buildings where lectures and other sessions are held, and only 1 block away from Lavin pavilion, one of the hospital buildings. Maintenance are usually pretty responsive to any issues. Front desk people are so wonderful. Package room is available 24/7, you tell the front desk person your unit number and they'll get your packages.

WORST EXPERIENCE, DONT RENT FROM RAVI R

I strongly advise potential tenants to steer clear of this building due to my extremely negative experience with landlord and the management office.

One significant incident highlights the landlord's unprofessional behavior and attempt to scam me. My lease was supposed to end on the 31st at 6 PM, but he changed the locks on my unit at 4 PM, with all my belongings still inside. This not only caused me to be late for work but also resulted in a late return of my rental cargo van. I had to go to the management office to get a master key just to access my unit again.

Throughout my lease, I paid my rent on time every month and had no issues or complaints with my neighbors or the building. However, the landlord became upset when I decided not to renew my contract after learning that a person had been murdered inside the building due to security breaches (you can look this up on google).

These experiences have made me feel unsafe and mistreated. I hope this review helps others avoid the stress and inconvenience I faced while living here.

Perfect location for Feinberg, almost feels like a small slice of a college town because so many of your neighbors will be students, residents, nurses, etc at the hospital. You do get sirens fairly often depending on where you live since the emergency room is very close. The neighborhood doesn't have too many restaurants/bars but it is walking distance to River North and Gold Coast and the rest of the city is easily accessed by public transport. Much safer than most neighborhoods in Chicago.
Streeterville is a very nice neighborhood. There are plenty of parks and grocery stores. There is some late night crime due to the location downtown and close to the beach, but overall nothing worse than anywhere else.

There are some more expensive restaurants and fast food places. Navy Pier attracts a lot of tourists and they can be annoying to navigate around.
I enjoy living in Streeterville since it's near many of Chicago attractions without feeling overwhelming like in the Loop. I am able to walk around safely at night and I like going jogging in Millennium Park. My biggest complaint would be the lack of greenery in the area and how the city can feel a little bit insulating at times. Public transportation is great. This area is pricey, which is why I decided to have a roommate.
The Streeterville area was still pretty sleepy when I moved here three years ago. Since then, there has been an incredible amount of development. New luxury apartments and condos are going up, several new restaurants, a brand new target and Whole Foods. Its become a great place for professionals who enjoy living downtown, but without the club crowds in River North.
There are a few buses that are near by that help get residents down to the loop. Also it's pretty easy to walk around and the cross walks are pedestrian friendly. I'm always able to get around by foot and buses/trains. Streeterville is a very safe neighborhood and I've never felt unsafe walking around at night. The streets are well lit.
Noise is not usually too big of an issue in this neighborhood; it's pretty quiet at night.
There are multiple grocery stores nearby for multiple choices. Also there are a bunch of great places to eat so one will not get bored with options.
While on the expensive end in Chicago, streeterville is safe, has all the necessities (look for apts near grocery stores if you don't have a car!!), is super close to school (and most feinberg students so convenient for socializing), and is super close proximity to restaurants and bars.
This building is located in the center of everything you could possibly need. Whole foods and Jewel within walking distance, easy to get to the lake front, and plenty of good restaurants and bars. The only down side is that it does not really have a "neighborhoody" feel.
Love how close we are to the medical school, makes going to class really easy. A lot of students live in Streeterville so it is very easy to hangout with friends. There are also a few coffee shops in the neighborhood that are very fun to study at!
