Perfect for grad school!
This apartment complex has provided me with the safety and convenience I needed through grad school. Safety was a top priority for me. This apartment is located in East Walnut Hills neighborhood (not super safe but not super unsafe in relation to other neighborhoods -- street by street). Aside from that, the apartment is close to the intersection of Woodburn and Madison, which has cute coffee shops, breweries, and restaurants within walking distance (a safe area of the neighborhood). They have gated parking with a dog run within the gated area which is well lit, so I feel safe taking my dog out at all hours. There is a pool, two gyms, common study areas, grill areas to cookout, a firepit, and free coffee and free printing in the clubhouse. All of these amenities for the price has shown to be a really good deal overall for me for the past three years. They also make it a point to host events throughout the year to get residents together, so DeSales has felt much like a community to me from the start. It truly became a home through school and I am still so glad I chose to live there. Highly recommend!

Amenities are great
The amenities and being close to campus without being non campus make the rent worth it.

I love it here.
I have lived at DeSales Flats apartments since I started graduate school at the University of Cincinnati a couple years ago. I will be staying here for one more year as I finish out my graduate program. DeSales has truly become my home in many ways. I originally rented out a one-bedroom for myself and my fur babies (an energetic black lab and a sassy cat). The dog park, gated parking, in-unit washer & dryer, 24-hour gym access, free coffee/tea/hot chocolate anytime, study areas, pool, casual fire-pit, and spacious layouts have been more than exactly what I needed to survive graduate school and maintain a healthy balanced life throughout. The staff here have done a great job at making DeSales a community through frequent planned events and gatherings (even a clever ice-cream social distancing social through COVID!). I cannot say enough great things about DeSales Flats and I highly recommend living here, especially while powering through those stressful years in school.

High cost, but worth it
If this is within your budget (or you can split the rent with a roommate), I highly highly recommend this property. I have been very happy with my time here. The amenities are great (secure parking lot, pool, gym, clubhouse, latte machine, secure entrance, patios). The location is pretty good- close to campus and safe, with some fun things to do in the neighborhood. The apartments are fantastic. The management is amazing too, very responsive and understanding (not at all like Gaslight apparently is). It is definitely expensive, but I consider it worth it. My experience here exceeds my expectations, and when I renewed my lease the rent did not increase.

Great Place
Variety of floorpans and prices. Secure property. The neighborhood is good but outside of two brew houses and a couple of expensive restaurants, it leaves something to be desired for the more frugal young crowd. Everyone that lives in the complex is either middle-aged or young professional. Lots of Medical students live here so it is very quiet and good for studying.
