Overlook at Notre Dame

Never regretted it. Highly recommend it if you want a within-walking-distance apartment place. Many MBA classmates do live here.

I am happy I ended up living at Overlook. Its proximity to campus can't be beat. It is more pricey, but its clean, quiet, and new.

Good enough for utility, but always walking to Foundry.

The amenities are great at Overlook. The apartment is modernized and has been well taken care of. The staff are friendly and helpful. They respond quickly to emails. Fun activities like a wine and canvas night (free and paints, wine, etc were all provided) and cookies in the office are planned frequently. The one reason that I did not give a 10/10 rating was that I have had some maintenance issues, one of which (broken dishwasher) was not handled in a timely manner and ultimately I was not kept very informed. Also the building has lost power 3 times this year that I know of, twice for many hours, not that that is something that can be fixed but there could be other locations that do not have these issues. Overlook is a quick walk from campus. It takes 10-15 minutes to walk to Mendoza. Everything except for electricity is included in rent costs. I have been a little surprised with the cost of electricity for how much I use as well. It’s really nice that the program was fully furnished. Especially because my program was shorter, it was nice to not have to worry about furniture! There are quiet hours 10pm-10am but they are not necessarily followed super well/the walls are kind of thin. I also love the walk in closet that I have!

Love Overlook! Quiet building, many MSM students decide to live here so building community is very easy. Also, having a view of campus (the dome and library) is a major plus!

Lived in a studio, would recommend buying a folding table for extra room.

Great location and maintenance service but poor sound insulation and cheap apartment construction. Location and decent pricing bring the overall score up.

Solid living arrangement. The management team there is awesome. Free Coffee bar. Parking is an additional 250$ for the year. Does not include parking in the university lots. Apartments facing the street are pretty noisy. If you get a place here get one on the other side of twickenham facing the parking lot. Not as good of a view, but much quieter

Overlook is everything that you need in an apartment complex as a graduate student. It is campus-adjacent. As a result, I have not had to purchase a ND parking pass because you can walk to any on-campus location. The billing/payment process is convenient and the apartments are well finished. However, the apartments are expensive for what they are. If you are looking to save money, I would consider renting a house in South Bend/Granger/Mishiwaka and splitting the cost with some classmates.

An ok experience overall; management is incredibly slow to respond to any questions or inquiries, the facilities leave much to be desired. The dishwasher is very small (like weirdly small), and the washer / dryer sometimes don't work. WiFi is included with your rent but is incredibly slow. I'm probably more critical than the average person, but at the price I'm paying I feel like I should be getting more from Overlook.
