Fischer Grad
Fischer grad is an acceptable low-cost option. It is not luxurious by any means, but it gets the job done. Location is not as ideal as it seems. To most grad school buildings, it is just as far of a walk from Fischer Grad as it would be from the Foundry or Overlook. Everything is straightforward and reliable since it is run through the university. I believe that all Notre Dame students are pre-approved, so there is no real application process; the only obstacle is signing before it fills up.

Fischer Grad Residences
Great place to live. An absolute bang for the buck. Relatively older property hence requires frequent maintenance. Management is quick and responsive.

Fischer Graduate Residences
Good experience as I can meet and socialize with other ND graduate students. There's a lot of storage space in the apartment and it's close to the shuttle bus stop, but the walls are a bit thin so there's a bit of noise, and you have to share the bathroom with a roommate which might not be convenient if your schedule changes frequently or you need to use the bathroom often.

Good but not great
Most flexible renting options, furnished but not best looking apartment and while you have your own room you share the common space with one other person

Good for the Price
For just over $700, Fischer is a great place to live. It isn’t as nice as the Foundry or Overlook, but it’s just as spacious and it is in a great location. If you don’t mind having one roommate, then I think it is a good option.

Pros and Cons Fischer
Very spacious, great value for the price. Very convenient, the shuttle bus is close. However, maintenance is usually not the most efficient, and laundry facility tends to have one or two machines that are down. The gym is poorly constructed and the location of the gym is right in front of the laundry facility.

Would recommend
Living on campus is definitely nice if you don't have a car. The building is a little old, but you have access to utilities and there's plenty of space in the apartment. Note the laundry room is in the community center.
