Great Choice
Alta Springs is the best choice for students that are coming for ASW. The pool during the summer is the place to be.

Nice
Pros - Lots of amenities (gym, pool, business center, rec center, management on site), usually quiet, pretty good apartment quality.
Cons - pretty far from Kenan-Flagler even with a car, expensive compared to other places you find later, can be a pain with management, not a lot near the complex.

Great Apartment!
I would absolutely recommend living in Alta Springs.

Great place for a first year or sublet
The development is very well maintained and the staff is very responsive. A good portion of the first year MBA class at UNC tends to live here so there is a built-in social group.

Best non-dorms
I really enjoyed Alta, having many students like me around helps with the commute. The gym is good and the pool hosts a lot of MBA BBQ's in the summer.
The office is nice and responsive.
Downside:
We had some pest problems, the office sent someone to take care of it but it still persists.
Parking is sometimes an issue, this is resolved by parking a bit further away from my apartment but it's not fun in winter.
Overall I enjoyed it and I think it's good value for money.

Really like it here!
I like living in Alta Springs. There are a lot of grad students, so you don't feel like you're around undergrads. The units and property are clean and well maintained. They have a lot of resident activities including food trucks and free workout classes. The gym is nice as well. Would definitely recommend. The only downside is there can be traffic sometimes getting to and from the business school.

Overall very good, but some minor issues.
Overall the apartment complex is very well run, but there are a few issues. First off, I'm fairly certain the complex was made in the late 1990s and consequently some of the things in the complex break at moments. In August 2016, about a month after I had moved in, my central air conditioner broke. They immediately came out to check it out, concluded it was broken and ordered the necessary parts to fix it but did not have them on hand. They gave me a wall unit for a few days until they could make their repairs.
As a first-year MBA, this is a great spot to live as I would estimate close to half of the first-year class lives here. However, it is not the cheapest option and there are spots closer to Franklin St. that are more exciting and allow you to live with roommates.

Decent Property, Good Community
The reason to move to Alta is because of the solid group of MBAs that live here. That is what makes the Alta community fun. However, it has a less than ideal location that is not walkable to anything and the real action is down closer to Franklin Street. Also, we have dealt with some safety issues including break-ins. And, apparently hunting is allowed nearby, because we are frequently awoken in the morning by the sound of hunting gunshots.

Great apartment soured by poor management
The complex is amazing, and there are tons of other similar aged and similar situation folks living there, but the management of the company is atrocious. They close for no reason, mix up packages frequently, and give almost no warning when they have mandatory inspections.
