Great amenities
This is an amazing little community with unbelievable amenities, responsive management, and a friendly neighborhood right by Elmington park. It's a long walk to school, but worth it in my opinion because of the safe neighborhood and how nice this complex is. Because it's a little further from campus than other places, the vibe is more mature (a mix of students, young professionals, and families). The complex has 4 pools, a dog park, a yoga studio, gyms, free fitness classes, amazing quality coffee and energy drinks. The management team makes fresh cookies everyday. They have community events and bring in food trucks. You can get a wine card to have complimentary wine too. Basically everyone has a dog. Top floor apartments have a real fireplace. I seriously love it here.

The Grove Richland Overview
Living at The Grove (Richland) has been a great experience. When we moved in, the leasing office had prepared a welcome bag with stuff like dish soap and travel mug to make living there on the first day/night easier. The leasing office is always helpful when I call or visit with questions. I love that there is a workspace with a computer and printer open 24/7. I don't drink much coffee, but I love that both leasing offices have Frothy Monkey coffee machines-- and if you get there at the right time, they also have chocolate chip cookies! The Grove makes a good effort to keep the sidewalks clean; I've lived there for two months and they've power washed the sidewalks or breezeways twice since we moved in. The pools are always well-kept and the atmosphere around the complex is lively, but quiet. The bathtubs are deep. The kitchens are nice-- though the microwave is above the stovetop and acts as a range/vent :(.
There are two gym-type rooms in the complex; one on the Richland side and one on the Whitworth side. Residents from either side of the complex are allowed to use either gym. The gyms are both pretty small, but they have enough basic equipment for someone to maintain a healthy lifestyle. They have a smith machine, but not a free-weight squat rack. The dumbbells only go up to 50 pounds. The gym isn't going to be ideal for people trying to lift heavy weights, but I suppose most people aren't looking to do that. The gyms are mostly kept clean, and people are usually very nice.
The apartment complex is nicer than our individual apartment, but I know I am being picky. There's a small hole on the ground in the corner cabinets in the kitchen-- our cat has gotten into that hole and was scared to come out once. There are several places where you can tell the management company just painted over something rather than fixing it and then painting. My roommate's toilet drips water on the ground when they use it, and it's claimed to be "fixed", but alas. The blinds are heavy duty, but for some reason the ones in my room just stopped turning when I twist the thing. The washer/dryer aren't the best quality, and our dryer doesn't have a timer-off on it, so it will keep drying until you open the door. Lastly, it is next to impossible to hang lights on the balcony because there is nowhere to put pushpins, nails, or screws-- and the hot weather melts off any sort of tape you may want to use.
I love living at The Grove and I would recommend it to anyone, but it is definitely on the pricier side. Even with a 2-bd. apt., splitting the rent would still get each person to ~$1300 a month before paying for utilities. It's not an affordable place to live, but it's safe and well-kept.

The Grove
The grove is best accessed by car, as there are no convenient bus stops and limited pedestrian options from the facility to Vanderbilt (about 45 minute walk). I'd recommend prospective renters stay here if they have at least one vehicle or bicycle and helmet. Finding an apartment typically involves wait-listing through a 500$ deposit. Very pet friendly and great workspaces with two gyms and several pools + grilling amenities.

Love the Grove
I have lived here all three years of law school. Positive experiences. The area feels safe. Walking distance to Elmington Park and lots of nice streets with sidewalks. Pools and gyms are great. Management is quick to respond to problems. Great place for a pet.

Spacious and Quiet
The apartments are spacious, with excellent appliances. They are pet friendly, too! The amenities are exciting, from a wine dispenser to four pools and a new yoga studio. Everyone is friendly. It's a great space for someone who isn't interested in living too close to campus and is okay with driving!

Just Ok
The Grove is a very convenient place to live and is located in a really nice area of Nashville. It feels very safe. My biggest issue is the problem with bugs. Cockroaches, spiders, and other bugs are extremely common even after having the pest control service come monthly. The office staff are nice, but when it comes to major problems like pest control they are completely unhelpful. For the price, I think another apartment complex would have the same amenities with fewer pests and constant maintenance issues.

Best Place Ever!
I lived at the Grove alone (female student) and I felt so safe. The amenities are up-to-date, staff is friendly and responsive, and apartment itself was spacious and nice. It's a 10 minute drive to Vandy and about 15 minutes from anywhere you could possibly want to go. It's tucked away in a cute little neighborhood, so you get the quiet, cozy feeling of suburbia while still being minutes from downtown. I truly cannot recommend it enough!
