Elliston 23 Review

Living at Elliston 23 has been amazing and I have very few bad things to say. It is a very short and safe walk to campus and walkable to most bars/restaurants in midtown. The building has a very strong security system so I feel very safe living alone. The pool area is beautiful and usually not too crowded. The gym is a little small but gets the job done and is always clean. There is a beautiful rooftop with a pickleball court and dog park for those with pets. My only complaint is maintenance is sometimes slow to respond to non-emergent needs (ice maker not working, etc) but I have good things about the emergency maintenance service. The rent is expensive but very comparable to other buildings in the area, and I believe well worth the price for the space and location. The studio is huge with a nice balcony and plenty of room for one person. Comes with new appliances as well! Construction is loud but only goes on during working hours and is expected to end soon I believe.

Conveniently located

This apartment is very convenient to Vanderbilt, restaurants, and Centennial Park. It is costly, and the company keeps changing its services and policies. My apartment has constant issues, including a mold issue, which they are unwilling to help with. Management is responsive but rude. The amenities are decent, and there are plenty of opportunities to socialize if you are in your early to mid-20s. They are constantly doing construction; it is deafening.

Could find better but perfect for dog owners

Overall it is a great place to live, especially if you own a pet because there is a dog park on top. Although typically I can't hear my neighbors because of the concrete walls, there is lots of construction occurring because they are updating the apartments. This is aggravating and loud. It also means the building is less secure because often the doors by the freight elevator are left open for easier access to the construction workers. This usually hasn't been an issue. There was an instance though where I saw a gate was left open in the court yard (I dont think it was construction's fault) and a homeless person slept there. The location of this building is near a halfway house and there are lots of homeless people hanging around. The building uses an app to get access to the building which means you need your phone on you at all times. There is a code to memorize to get in the main elevator if your phone were to die, but in the often case that elevator is out of order, there is no way into the building if your phone is dead. I also think some of the construction was rushed because a lot of the wiring in my apartment was messed up and it took a month to fix. Now that that's fixed, I am pretty happy and will be renewing my lease for next year. It's location to Vanderbilt is great. If I did not own a dog, however, I might go elsewhere.

?

The building is completely quiet (a foot of concrete between every unit means you don’t hear your neighbors). The new management is much less good than the old one though— they impose fines and aren’t helpful at the front desk when you have a problem.

Elliston 23 Review

The apartment complex is very nice and has a lot of great amenities (gym, pickleball court, pool, study rooms, coffee machines). It is also very secure and there is staff on site 7 days a week. However, there is a lot of construction going on in the building which can be loud at times, the electricity has been very expensive, they charge a lot of additional fees, and there have been quite a few maintenance problems in my unit.

Fine Apartment, Walkable, Management Not Great but not Awful

Nice enough building, responsive maintenance. Management has improved but the building hosts airbnb type rentals and all the money/focus clearly is on those. Renovations are for those rooms and sometimes continue into the evenings which can be distracting.
