Avoid living here!

Overpriced apartment with terrible management. They are unresponsive and really do not care about the tenants or the property. It is not clean or safe. The elevators are constantly broken.

Could be great

By all measures, Corazon should be a much better living experience than it is. The amenities are all there: pool, rooftop, gym, covered parking*, high ceilings* and concrete flooring.* (*for an extra fee)

Unfortunately, Corazon is poorly mismanaged by Roscoe Properties. Preventative maintenance is non-existent, so on any given day the elevators are down, the parking garage gates are down, roaches will roam the hallways and your unit, mold will form in the HVAC, leaks will spring from the roof, bbq's are perpetually broken, etc. The construction at Plaza Saltillo has made any of the South-facing units a loud, dust-covered mess. Roscoe has also turned nearly half of the units on the 3rd floor to AirBnB units, which has turned the community into a bunch of rolling suitcases here to party for the night. Worse off, Corazon still hasn't found a way to keep the homeless from sleeping in the stairwells, meaning that when you make your way out of the building in the morning, you'll more often than not find a homeless sleep-over to greet you.

All of this said, Corazon could (and should) be much better than it is given the premium you'll pay to live here. Better deals can be found at Eastside Station, Eleven, and the Arnold.

Great Place Great Location

It's a new building near work for me, so it works great! There is a gym, outdoor pool, computer lounge, lobby, and rooftop lounge. Utilities, renters insurance, parking and trash are all additional fees that add up, but for the location its the best price I can find. The rent is income dependent and could totally change the price. So rent could be different for you.

Tons of great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, breweries, etc. and many other people in their late 20s/early 30s.

Both a pro and a con, depending on your perspective, is that the area is in the midst of a textbook case of gentrification. New hipster places are intermingled with decades old minority owned business.

A few blocks in either direction there are some areas that may feel less safe with low income housing, homeless, etc. Some streets definitely feel sketchier than others and crime still occurs in certain areas. The direct area around the building feels very safe with lots of people and businesses. Development on the east side is happening rapidly and a number of new mid and high rise developments are being constructed which will continue to change the neighborhood.
Love it. Amazing food at pretty good price points and tons of bars to fit whatever you're looking for. Close to downtown, close to school, and close to HEB and Whole Foods. Can't recommend this area enough.
Great restaurants and bars nearby! Wholefoods and target located next to apartment building too, but lots of homeless within a few blocks of the apartment
The neighborhood is trendy and interesting
East 6th offers several great breweries, food trucks, and restaurants. The vibe is definitely a bit "hipster" so be prepared! The attractions are growing/improving... my favorite new additions have been Whole Foods and Hopdoddy.
Such a fun place to live! Something is always happening!
East Austin is fantastic. The best bars and restaurants are all in East Austin. Couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Also close to a few great bus lines (4 goes East and West) and the 100 (Airport - UT shuttle) is also nearby.
The neighborhood has a homeless problem, but it isn't on my street and is a few blocks away. The only time I really deal with it is when I'm walking to/from Rainy. However I'm a large male and I haven't ever felt threatened by them.
