Columbia Uptown reviews and highlights
- affordable option with a good standard of living
- appliances are new and work well
- old windows
- staff go above and beyond
- elevators are small
- evening security guard makes us feel safe
Overall Good for Young Professionals
Prices are good for the location and size of the apartments. The apartments are not terribly large, but good for two people. Management is responsive to requests and there haven't been many problems. Security is visible every night. 14th Street can be fairly loud with sirens and buses.

Columbia Heights Reviews
Regarding neighborhood safety, there are occasionally shootings unfortunately. I have never personally felt unsafe even at night, but realize others might feel so.
If you value quiet, try to go a block or two away from 14th street (which is a popular artery for fire engines / ambulances / police cars - i.e. lot of sirens).
Con: Increasing amounts of gentrification in this neighborhood is increasing rent prices
