Amazing apartment with proximity to Jeff

Beautiful apartment building with a very attentive staff. All my service requests get taken care of same day without any hassle. The front desk staff is above and beyond. It feels nice to come home after a long day of work to a home that is also steps from the hospital. The closet is a bit small, but there is a ton of storage space around the apartment. My only complaint is that the street noise from market street can be loud at times (has never kept me up), but that is more a function of my apartment location.

Great building

I've been living at The Ludlow for 1 year and just renewed my lease. The building is clean and very well maintained, management is responsive, and the staff are all friendly. There is an amazon hub that makes package pickup very fast and easy, as well as a secure package room. The terrace is on the third floor and has green space, always clean and never really crowded. The apartments themselves have floor to ceiling windows, big bathrooms, and I almost never hear my neighbors. Ludlow street and the east market area have become very nice, and there is always security around. I've never felt unsafe in the area.

Great building

I've been living here for about 1 year now and I've been very impressed with the way the building is managed. Front desk staff is very friendly, package pickup is organized, and the building is extremely clean. I go on the terrace often and it is very well maintained. The building is also very quiet, I almost never hear my neighbors. The only gripes I have are the lack of closet space and the loud heating/AC.

Very nice apartments and amenities!

Very clean, bright, spacious, pet friendly, great amenities, very secure and safe location. Free printing! Closet space is somewhat limited but there is a ton of storage in the kitchen and room for a dresser in the bedroom. The only downsides are that the central air is quite loud (you get used to it but it's a little annoying when watching TV) and the water does not run cold in the summer time.

Its great but expensive.

I love my apartment and the building. It is a comfortable apartement for 1-2 people max. Issues include the fire alarm going off at random times and occassional hot water issues but have been very infrequent for me over 2+ years. Amenities are great and clean. The gym in the building is 24 hrs amd very clean. Amazon hub locker is definitely a plus for recieving packages. The street where building is located is probably the safest street around with 24hr security guard.

great building

The Ludlow is right next to the hospital, essentially eliminating commute time which has been so great. Also very close to Jefferson station, lots of restaurants/bars on 13th street, and a lot of food options in the complex itself. Apartment amenities are really nice, but closet space is limited.

Midtown Village Reviews

Access to restaurants, attractions, and shops in Center City and even nearby in South Philly or Rittenhouse Square is superb. There is generally a lot of street traffic and drug addiction and homelessness are common in the area, but typically not a source of harm for passersby and also not much different than in any other major urban center in the U.S.
Best neighborhood in Center City - can't beat the price for what you get. Amazing location, just a short walk to Rittenhouse or Old City. Can't beat living in the heart of Center City, and only a 7 minute walk to the hospital. Plenty of night life.
Some crime in the area, but overall, great bar and restaurant scene with easy access to public transit.
Center city is arguably safe but sometimes there are some issues. Police are responsive.
Midtown Village is quickly becoming one of the best places in Philly to live. The quick downside is there's a lot of construction in the area, but that's also the positive if you're okay with the feel of a city that's constantly changing. The area already has lots of great bars and restaurants, and all the new construction is adding in great new options for grocery, coffee, and convenience items. There's now a Target, Mom's Grocery, multiple Wawas, Sweetgreen, etc. all in close proximity to mainstays like Reading Terminal.
Midtown Village is a fast-growing and both has great mainstay restaurants like El Vez and Barbuzzo as well as amazing chains like Chipotle and Sweet Green. The addition of a Target, Wawa, CVS, Starbucks, and Petco makes it even more accessible and naturally the location is as central as you can be in Philadelphia. In comparing options, you usually can get a bit of a discount versus Rittenhouse Square and Old City, mainly because the Midtown Village brand is still being built up, but you really can't beat the location and access to amenities. The only thing it's missing is a full-service grocery store, but between Reading Terminal Market, Target, Walgreens, and CVS you're pretty set. The main downside can be the noise and litter that comes with being in the heart of downtown, but it's a trade off I'm more than willing to make and has been getting better with time.
I love this neighborhood! It's very lively and great for young adults. There are a lot of cool restaurants/bars around. It's a little pricey but what can you expect from being in the center of a city like Philadelphia?
The area is filled with lots of young people. I don't feel unsafe walking around even at night because there are people out all the time. There are a couple of narrow streets I probably wouldn't walk through though.
The neighborhood is amazing and getting better every day! It combines access to great daily conveniences (coffee shops, Target, Wawa, etc.) with some of the best independent restaurants and bars in Philly. The location is incredibly central overall and transit options can get you pretty much anywhere in the city. It can get a bit noisy, though that's the price you pay for being downtown.
