Liberty
I just moved, but I have been very satisfied!

Expensive but worth it
Liberty Warehouse is right in the middle of everything downtown and the management is perfectly competent which is all you can hope for

Convenient and high quality
Love the convenience of living above the Durham food hall while still being 10 minutes from Fuqua and 10 minutes from 9th street. I often walk to events that are hosted at Boxcar, accordion, glass jug, etc. The building is also extremely nice. There’s a nice gym, pool and common area. My apartment is good sized with a balcony.

Great location and staff
Liberty is right next to Durham Central park. There are always events in the park that make weekends so fun to stay and explore Durham. The park affords ample space for pets to go for walks and play. The staff is amazing and super responsive. It's a little bit on the pricier side, but the location and experience just can't be beat.

Apartment Review
I've enjoyed my stay. The location is great, sometimes too good (in terms of concerts being close by)

Great in a Non-Covid world
It's in downtown Durham, so it's unfortunately pretty far from campus (30 minutes). It's an awesome location with a lot to do around in a non-covid world, but in quarantine it's expensive. It's mostly young/working professionals in the building, some students. Lots of construction going on around so loud during the day but that's out of the apartments control.

Liberty Warehouse
It is a bit expensive compared to other apartments in the area but it has an awesome location downtown next to all the breweries! I find the management company to be just okay. They are super responsive to repair request but often times miss emails. They weren't very welcoming or accommodating to my move in needs and I have had a few issues with them over the past few months. They do try and put on events for residents though and even do pandemic friendly ones that I have enjoyed. Most of their amenities are closed due to the pandemic, however, other similar buildings in downtown Durham have managed to keep their amenities open.

Great Location
The neighborhood is very walkable with many cute restaurants and coffee shops. Events at Durham Central Park are also fun. Rent is reasonable/lower for the apartment space and amenities you get compared to over neighborhoods and other complexes.

Downtown Durham Reviews
With that being said, Van Alen is still in Durham.
It takes on average less than 10 minutes for me to go from Van Alen to the science drive parking garage at Duke.
