Fort Totten Squaare

besides the price, this is a very decent place. there is onelife fitness right up the street, and you live above a walmart. chick fil a is right next door, and the metro is about a 5 minute walk and can take metro all the way to airport without switching lines. only 15 minute drive to campus if you beat traffic. pretty quiet area, gym downstairs, and fob-only entry. parking is 95/month or 105/month for reserved parking, the cheapest rate in dc i've seen. over by the metro is a trail if you like to run. public library right across from onelife fitness, and they're building more shops in the area. two blocks down is a dc recreation center with soccer/football field

Experience

Great experience. If there are any issues, maintenance is very quick to respond. The front office and leasing office are always available. I wish they had more areas for study space, but they only have one area by the gym.

Great amenities, great value, lots of space

I have really loved living here at FTS. My apartment is very large compared to other similar apartment complexes. I upgraded my apartment to a top floor, courtyard view with a spacious balcony (there were much cheaper options just without these). It was worth every penny. Attached in the building is a walmart (the best one in DC), 5 guys, and subway. Chick fil A, chinese, liquor store, and dry cleaners are all right across the street. There is a $500 amenity fee each year, but that is typically waived each time you sign a lease/renew. The amenities are also some of the nicest. Parking is the cheapest "paid parking" I have seen at a complex $95. They always have free events at the property. Also, its about a 8 min drive to Howard COM. Its actually faster to get there than other closer places just because of where it is located. Also metro is accessible by about 6 min walk. I also love that it sits on the Maryland border which makes it easy to run errands, and many food and shopping options. Overall, I will have stayed here 3 out of my 4 years in DC.

Great place to live

The building is well-maintained with daily cleaning services and a responsive maintenance team. Some cons are that the management office is terrible at communication and the fire alarm goes off pretty often due to the alarm system being connected to a Walmart’s alarm system.
