The apartment is nice. After looking around at other apartments and pricing, similar apartments provide more social activities, better amenities, and around the same space for the same price. The amenities are fine overall. The apartments have a lot of older families rather than younger people. Security is lacking as there have been issues with the door locking, all have the same code that is never changed, and problems with stolen cars. There could be more done to make sure that there are better safety measures such as cameras, or security like other apartments in that area. Overall it is an average place to stay.

Lofts at the Highlands

When I moved to Saint Louis to attend WashU lofts at the highlands was my first apartment. I renewed my lease this year and plan to stay at least until after I graduate.

Great Place to Live

I have lived in this apartment complex for a semester and it has been great! The staff are super friendly and very accommodating to individual needs and requests. Although it is a little pricey, there is secure underground parking in a garage with cameras, a two level gym, and free coffee and tea at all hours. Plus there are free breakfasts on Saturdays and hot tubs and party rooks on the roof. There is also free printing in the business center which is great for graduate students! The apartment complex is within walking distance of Dogtown and Forest Park and the Science Center. It is only a short drive from the Loop and I can be at WashU in under 15 minutes without ever having to be on the highway.

Getting around Cheltenham

Cheltenham Reviews

The vibe is very graduate student/young professional with some young families around as well. The building tries to have a bunch of community events, and you're by a lot of shops with easy access to 64, but not a ton of cross-building community activities.
The neighborhood is okay! It is quiet, there is a little grassy area to walk around/hang out, and feels very safe at all hours. However, it is not walkable by any measure. Forest Park is across a busy highway. Dogtown is across a busy road. The Grove is too far to walk.
Average for St. Louis. Not great to go about at night. Not much to do, have to go east to CWE for food & nightlife. Apartment is away from the main roads, but the main roads are heavily trafficked and full of fast food as they connect two major highways.
Very very safe - have never felt at risk. There’s 24 hour security, the building itself has key access-only entry, and there’s no crime in the area anyways
Safe and just enough restaurants around.
There are some issues with crimes in the area, but that can be expected. There are good restaurants and bars around.
This is on the outskirts of dogtown. It is near other luxury apartments, with security that patrols the area. There is a yoga six studio, comet coffee shop, and Jimmy Johns within a 5 minute walk. The hampton is close as well. Public Transport is not so near though.
While there aren't many bars nearby, there is a coffeeshop, Jimmy Johns and a yoga studio within a 1 minute walk and can be seen from the front door. The place is right by Forest Park and the zoo.
