Very Good
The Belmont has kitchens and bathrooms that are a little out-dated. However, it costs less than a lot of newer apartments. Also, I love the pool and the pond. There are a lot of trees and hammocks. The location is close enough that you can walk to class.

Affordable yet safe community
Positives:
1. Prompt maintenance and emergency service
2. Safe gated community with two police cars patrolling at night
3. Club house has printer, gym, coffee and various amenities like meeting rooms and swimming pool.
4. Beautiful lake within the community which is perfect for walking around and spending some time peacefully
5. The bus stop is just in front of the apartment, and is in the LaSalle Loop so perfect for all students who attend schools in the loop
Problems:
1. The apartment is having a lot of roaches and different kinds of bugs. Regular pest control and housekeeping is not helping in alleviating the issue
2. There is no elevator in any of the apartment.

Not bad
It's not a bad place to live. Maintenance responds quickly to fix the downsides. It really depends what trade offs you're wiling to make. The entrance/exit gates have to be repaired every few months. There have been several crimes since I moved in 2.5 years ago, including armed robbery of an apartment, car theft, and car break-ins, so I don't feel comfortable going for walks around the complex after dark anymore, but to their credit there's a patrol car that drives around at night now. We also have our trash picked up from our front door, so that's helpful.

Best Bang for Your Buck
The amenities includes a gym (with two pelotons), pool, printers, coffee machine, and lovely lake full of turtles. The apartments are roomy; I am really glad that I made sure to rent an apartment with the hardwood floors. Walking distance to Fuqua (about 20 minutes) and there are buses either to Fuqua, Ninth street, or downtown. The Durham buses could run more often but the Fuqua bus is really convenient and comes every 15 minutes or so. Apartment is well-sized and there's a cute community. The place feels safe but there's also a security guard who drives around at night just in case.

Tranquil Environment Close to Campus
Belmont Apartments are close to Fuqua, and it is possible to walk to campus. The apartments are quiet, and the property includes a small lake with a walking trail, a fitness center, quiet areas to study, a business center with printers and computer, and helpful staff. The staff are attentive and quickly answer questions. This year there were a decent number of other Fuqua students living here along with other graduate students. This complex is a few miles from 9th street, so if you get FOMO easily take this into consideration. There is a grocery store, restaurants and gas station within walking distance.

Worth for Money
Has all the amenities and facilities that their in the popular 9th Street properties but cost $1000/month less
There is also a direct bus to Fuqua which makes the commute so much easier

Pros and Cons
Close to school - can take a bus which comes after every 15 minutes.
Can also walk to school
Gated community + Gym + Pool + Jogging trail beside lake
Cons - Less MBA students here, so if one has FOMO not a place to live in.

The facilities are a bit old. You cannot compare it to new facilities in other areas of the city.
