Overall great place to be
I wasn't able to do a walkthrough of the apartment complex before signing my lease, but I could not have asked for a better result. Neighbors are quiet and many tenants are either graduate students, student-athletes, or young working individuals. Lots of families in certain buildings as well. Management is friendly and responsive and promptly responds to any maintenance requests or concerns (often times same-day fix). Overall I feel safe and plan to stay at Alaris for all of grad school.

Decent
When I first moved here 1L year (I'm a 3L), it was perfect. My only real complaint was the lack of storage in the kitchen. I drive to the law school, but there is a bus stop here that will take you right to the law school.
However, it has declined over the years. It takes longer to get things fixed (especially the trash compactor), and the neighbors are much more noisy now. I have also found a cockroach. I would recommend checking out The View at 5010 instead; I would have moved there this year if not for the pandemic.

It's fine, but not what I was looking for
Good value for the actual apartment unit, but not necessarily the friendliest or most comfortable neighborhood feel.

Good value for students
My biggest pros for Alaris: shuttle service to WFU campus, responsive maintenance crew, fair rent pricing, safe area, lots of parking, pets allowed for small monthly charge
Other small perks - the management team is very nice, getting packages is easy because there is an Amazon locker on site
My biggest cons: no sidewalks outside of the complex so walking to nearby stores is not safe as the complex is off a high traffic 4 lane road, all carpet flooring in apartments, pool area is often mis-used by residents (frequent glass and trash left around after parties)
Other small annoyances - The trash is a problem as there is no recycling and the dumpster is often overfull but management does their best to keep on top of the issue.
If you move here I'd suggest going with Spectrum internet service. At&t has been terrible service for us here.

I like this apartment
Nearby there are two supermarkets and there is one black line school bus commuting me to school. Really convenient for a law student to live here.

Great for Students on a Budget
Alaris is certainly not a luxury apartment and has fewer amenities than other options. However, it offers nice enough apartments for a great price. Maintenance requests are always fulfilled quickly and it's only 5 minutes to Wake. It also doesn't require monthly pet rent--just a deposit. The neighbors are pleasant; it's mostly families rather than students.

Great place eventually
I put a down payment on the apartment in the middle of May for an August 5 move in date. I was moving down from Maine, and the previous occupant was moving out of the room in mid July. The leasing office was very aware of my arrival day and asked me to arrive between 11 and 1 pm. I received a call at 11am on August 5 telling me that they have not yet gotten my apartment cleaned for my arrival, and that I could not show up until 2pm at the earliest. Upon arrival, they had not yet had a maintenance worker check the room. The carpets were wet from cleaner. The light bulbs were burnt out. The blinds were broken. All of this was taken care of the same day (yay) however we suffered a cockroach problem for about 3 weeks. The leasing office seemed to drag their feet at first, but then really pulled through for us. They sent the exterminator to do extra work and called the maintenance crew to seal up all cracks and crevices throughout the apartment. We have not seen one since, and have not heard of any neighbors that have had this problem. I recently adopted a kitten and to make up for the unfortunate start to my lease, the office waived the $300 fee. It has been about two months now and everything else is great!

Alaris
Alaris is a nice community. I do not have any complaints really besides the fact that the front gate of the community has not been repaired, thus having it not to close since October 2018.
