Fair rent, great location

It's a great place, but we did not hear from them until late August and got a move in date for mid September for school starting in end of September. So it was a little stressful before the school year began, but it all worked out!

Good location, too many ants

This is on-campus housing, so the location is conveniently close to my classes and about a 15 minute drive to most grocery stores and other shopping. The unit is spacious with lots of storage space and room for furniture. The biggest drawback is the pests as it is plagued by ants along with occasional spiders and other bugs. Measures like ant traps help, but it is a constant battle. The unit does not have air conditioning, so buying and installing a portable air conditioner makes a big difference but takes time, money, and effort, especially since the windows are an atypical size for installation. Overall, it's a good student choice for location and price, but it's a fixer-upper to make it livable.

Cheap housing, dated amenities

Rent is very low for the area, apartment is spacious, and the location is very convenient for UCI. However, the appliances and amenities are dated. No A/C or elevators

Great deal for the price and location!

My husband and I really love living at Palo Verde! We have the I floor plan and it's quite spacious with lots of storage, plus our living room gets lots of sunlight during the day! It's a quiet neighborhood, but you'll regularly see people hanging out outside and going for walks. We rarely ever hear our upstairs or next-door neighbors (walls are thick). The free laundry services this year was an outstanding perk, really hope they continue with this. Maintenance is super prompt and very helpful anytime we have had an issue. The locks on the doors are pretty robust and the whole door is made of metal, so I feel really safe at home.

Having no AC here is actually not too much of an issue other than in the late summer months (box fans or a mini AC unit come in clutch). The only other thing that can be bothersome is our location in the complex puts us right next to the dumpster-- the dump trucks come every 3-4 days around 5 am and can be quite loud (which sucks as a light sleeper, but more of a minor complaint). Otherwise super quiet and peaceful! Overall for student housing and at subsidized pricing, this place is truly a great deal.

Paloverde on campus housing

I enjoy living in on-campus housing due to the price, distance from campus, ability to live with family, having a pet, gym membership (the arc), and a garden plot. The biggest flaw of my living is that I have carpets that are ugly and stain easily. Considering I had a puppy at home, I am unable to clean out the pee stains on the carpets no matter what I do. But PV is starting to build apartments with better flooring so I suggest requesting one of those to avoid this issue.

Overall decent on campus housing

I have a relatively large personal room, but the apartment itself is old. We have had it cleaned for mold twice. You also have no say over who you will be roommates with.

Compared to Verano, I personally prefer Palo Verde as it is relatively new compared to old Verano and larger rooms than Verano 8.
