Great, but not for families

The Southwestern is nice, but the surrounding area isn't the nicest. The building itself reminds me of living in a suburban apartment complex (unlike a huge high-rise you get in a city). Maybe it's just because it's so close to the Harry Hines area, but it feels like it's probably not very safe. I wouldn't really know though. I'm a 210+ pound pile of muscle - I always feel safe. There's no doorman and no real security. The pools is pretty plain. The gym sucks, at least if you're like me and need more then a few Dumbbells and cardio equipment, but there are a few good gyms nearby.

Love my new apartment

We shifted here a couple of months ago. I love the apartment and the perks of being a TS resident. The management is friendly, the staff is very helpful. The apartment is spacious and I love my kitchen cum breakfast/bar nook. The gym is very well equipped and the clubhouse is a nice place to hang out or throw parties.

Fantastic Place to Live

Gorgeous interior, always clean and bug free, door-to-door garbage and recycling, friendly and helpful staff, washer and drier included with unit, gated community, and maintenance responds within 1 business day. Plus they host social events like free breakfasts and pool parties. Back entrance allows for an extremely easy walk to UT Southwestern Medical Center. Also very pet friendly and tons of people have dogs here. The only downside is so many pets result in strong pet waste smell as you walk past the waste disposal containers.

Great and quiet

I have been living at the WS for over a year now. I love the unit layout of the 2 bedrooms in the first floor, it looks like a private home with street soir access and back yard. The appliances are great and amenities are well designed. The only exception is the fact that their is no restaurant surrounding where you can walk by and also look unsafe at night as the Maple street are empty.

A feel of Like Home

Conveniently located in Medical District, It's very close to my school and sometimes I just walk to. The style of the complex is classic contemporary and features great amenities and a cool staff, who don't count time passing to help you get your issues resolved. Regarding the safety, the community is safe except that maple street is not very busy and kind of feel unsafe. But is you have a car this is not an issue.

We like this place

We just moved into a 2 bedroom at this complex. The amenities are great, and the clubhouse looks like an awesome place to entertain. We can not wait for pool parties this summer. The staff is great and puts on monthly "mixers" to show the residents their appreciation and so that we can get to know other residence. It is a very quiet complex as most residents are medical students. We are so glad that we chose to move into The Southwestern.
