Great spot next to Carytown

The properties from Pierce Arrow are in great locations right along Boulevard. Most of them are only a block or two from Carytown and plenty of other bars/restaurants. Management is pretty good and the maintenance is usually pretty quick.

Great Location

Great location / Wish the building had more opportunity for social activities. Building has a lot of character. Walking distance from a lot of great bars and restaurants. Super close to running trails. Good price for location. Older building so I can hear the neighbors every once in a while.

Only Two Complaints

Pierce Arrow is a great community for students who are looking to live in the Fan. I say "community", but its really a collection of houses on Cary Street managed by Campus Apartments. I love everything about the apartment, it's fantastic, all hardwood floors, plus a balcony and washer and dryer in the apartment. My only issues are we don't have a garbage disposal and our shower pressure/temperature is a bit lacking. Overall, I've been pretty impressed by management and have no regrets about my apartment.

Solid price in a good location

Apt is very small and old and the management company is usually fairly responsive but sometimes you will have to call back a few times to get them to fix something. Location is fantastic, walking distance to all of the major bars/restaurants in the the fan and carytown.

The Fan Reviews

I'd recommend students live closer to the Fan/downtown. We already spend a lot of time on campus, so it's nice to be able to walk places or have restaurants/bars only a short car ride away. The commute to school is only 12 minutes!
The Fan is a historic neighborhood in Richmond. 603 N Davis Ave is in the heart of The Fan. There are many restaurants and museums within a 20 minute walk of the apartment. Additionally, the DMV is only a 5 minute walk away, which is very convenient when you're first getting moved in. There is no (convenient) public transportation close by, although public transport isn't very prevalent in Richmond to begin with.
Perfect area with restaurants and shops in walking distance. The art museum is also in walking distance and you can walk to Byrd park. At night the area isn’t super loud, but there are bars within walking distance. Easy access to 195 as well. The neighborhood is also very safe, although there have been more homeless people in the area over the last six months.
Everyone is friendly and it is fun to walk around. I am not totally dependent on my car now, and the homes are beautiful to walk by. A lot of things are close by so you're never far off. Travel time to work is lengthy but enjoyable. More of a feel for a real home rather than a college apartment
Love the fan! Awesome bars and restaurants nearby, young crowd, and very safe!
Great experience! Within walking distance of practically everything.
Pros:
-Lots of bars and restaurants very close
-In my area (farther from VCU), street parking is plentiful

Cons:
-Traffic out to the office can be difficult at times (for Richmond)
It's a little overhyped from what people tell you to try and sell you on Richmond, but if you do have to live in Richmond, then you might as well live here.
